Chapter 19: Water

Last Saturday, I asked kuya Adam to let me go home. Supposedly, I have no planned of disclosing my allergy about my hands but Lucas insisted to tell them. Nagsorry si kuya Adam pero nagsorry din ako kasi hindi ko naman sinabi sa kanila ang tungkol sa allergy ko, so I told them magdadala na lang ako ng liquid soap this Friday if ever I will be asked to wash the curtains or anything in the office again.

The whole week was fun! Pwede na kasi kami magpunta-punta sa office, and I am getting along with my co writers. Every after class nagkikita-kita na kami. First to learn more about journalism and second to bond with each other. Unfortunately, that four consecutive days, Lucas and Ben were not around and I wondered why. I was a little sad too because Eric was also missing in action. Sabi naman ni Eric sa akin busy siya sa choir kasi may performances sila sa intramural kaya sunod-sunod ang practice nila.

"Okay, pwede na kayong umuwi!" Mr. Legaspi told us. Kanina pa kami nangpapractice ng folk dances dito sa gym kaya naman pagod na pagod na rin kami ng mga classmate ko.

I get my bag from the bleacher and carry it, while my eyes are looking for Joyce and her friends. Lately, they are busy taking care of their papers from their old school tapos hindi na kami nagkakasabay maglunch.

"May gagawin ba kayo ngayon? Let's go, eat lunch?" I asked them.

"Tara sa Mabell's eatery? Nagpareserve na kami don." Aya ni Jj sa akin.

"Nagpareserve din ako sa food court kay Mommy Jo. Next time na lang." hays, sayang! I tried to not show them my sad face.

"Sige, sis!"

"See you tomorrow!"

"See you guys tomorrow." I gave them a timid smile. I can feel my shoulders down on me. I don't usually feel sad about other people, but of course, I consider them as my friends and I feel like it is me who always go away. Last Saturday, nag-aya na mag-milktea bonding kami, I told them hindi ako pwede nagpunta nga ako sa TGC that day.

"Francesca!" Palabas na ako ng gym ng may tumawag sa akin kaya naman nilingon ko ito. It was Ben, and he ran into my direction with his backpack. He breathed in and out first before he spoke again. "Sabay na tayong maglunch?" Is he asking me or he is telling it to me?

"I'm sorry, nagpareserve na kasi ako kay Mommy Jo ng food so.." I shake my head at him. He gives me a sad face and a pouted lips. Okay, I know the feeling, Ben. "Next time na lang, Ben." Sasabihin ko na sanang sorry pero may tumapik sa braso niya. Immediately, my eyes go to Lucas.

"Tara na don. Tita Jo reserved food for us," Lucas told Ben kaya napangiti ito sa kanya at tinggol siya sa braso. Oh, don din pala sila kakain eh!

"The best! Tara na Ceska. Nagiintay na sa atin si Esther," Ben grins at me. Oh..

"Great! Let's go."

"Ang tagal n'yo ha! Halos isang oras na akong nagiintay sa inyo, namuti na 'yung mata ko." Esther joked when we arrived in the office. Binaba naming tatlo 'yung mga bag namin malapit sa inuupuan ni Esther.

"Sorry ha? Ang sabi ko naman kasi sa'yo 12 pa tapos ng PE namin," Ben snapped at her.

"Wow, ikaw nag-aya mag-lunch tapos ako pinag-intay mo," Esther snapped at him.

"Sige, galingan n'yong mag-away." Bati ni Lucas kaya natawa ako kasi nagturuan pa ang dalawa. Lucas was serious, or normal lang sa kanya na ganon?
