Chapter 26: Intramural Pt.2

Tuesday, September 18, 2018, 09:45 PHT

Last morning, we distributed the first copy of our intramural flash. Hindi naman ganong hassle kasi maraming estudyante naman ang lumalapit sa amin para kumuha ng updates, although we were standing at nakakapagod 'yon. Today, may schedule ng volleyball game. It's College of Management vs College of Engineering. I am awed because Eric will be there to play. I'm really excited to watch my friend playing his favorite sport.

"Ben, who'll cover volleyball?" I ask Ben while were walking outside the office. Kaming dalawa na lang ang natira sa office kanina, kasi ang iba may cinocover na na sports event. Ben looks at his wristwatch.

"Si ate Roxie at si Eric. Si kuya Aaron ata ang magpipicture, if not him baka si EIC. Bakit?" Ben asks me too as we descend down the front porch of the student building.

"Because I'll go there and watch. I was thinking to cover it kung walang magcocover." I answer him.

"Really? Pupunta rin ako don." Ben smirks at me. My forehead creased. What was the smirk for?

"Ahh, okay. You'll support your college department." Okay, I got it. "Magkaiba tayo ng isusupport." I added. I feel kind of tired right now dahil nakatayo din kami kanina from 7:30 to 9:00 while distributing the copies of intramural flash.

"Yup, and I'll support my best friend." Ben casually declares. Best friend? I pondered for a moment to think who his best friend is. I gave him a weirded gaze and stopped walking, grabbing his elbow so he could pause as well.

"Best friend, you mean Lucas or you have another best friend?" My eyes blink as I wait for him to answer me. Ben's face was telling me he wanted to laugh when the sides of his lips twitched. He crossed his arms and shakes his head.

"None other than him." He grins at me while shaking his head. "Lucas didn't tell you?" He narrows his eyes at me. I wanted to slap my forehead because I forgot that Lucas used to play volleyball when he was on high school so I was unable to immediately reply something to Ben. "Obviously, he didn't tell you." He nods on the thought he has in mind.

"I knew it. I just forgot, and I thought he'd only play table tennis." I started walking again and Ben walk beside me. The sunlight instantly warm my body from the cold temperature of the office that we have just left.

"So he told you about playing volleyball and table tennis?" It does not sound like Ben is asking me but it is more of telling it to himself. Anyway, I honestly can't remember if Lucas already told me about it, but I know Eric had told me because he stalked Lucas in our milk tea session. Yes, I can remember now.

"Hmm.." I tilted my head, telling him I was uncertain. "No, I'm not sure if he mentions it. But Eric told me about it." I told him with honesty.

"Eric, he must know, baka nga nakalaban na ng team ni Lucas ang team ni Eric sa volleyball dati." No, actually he stalked Lucas on his Facebook—I might want to add but I kept it to myself.

"Maybe. Anyway, Lucas didn't tell me na maglalaro siya ngayong intramural. Si Eric lang ang alam kong maglalaro today." Ben and I both look ahead of us kasi ang gulo gulo na naman ng mga estudyante, kaya naman pala kasi nandoon na ang volleyball players ng Engineering at Management sa court.

"Maybe Luke knew you'd support your bestie Eric kaya 'di niya sinabi sa'yo." Ben shrugs his shoulders as we swerve through the students into the bleachers.

"I can support both of them." Naman. Duh? Ang echosero din talaga nito si Lucas. I mentally laughed.

Naupo kami ni Ben sa side ng Engineering—wait dapat sa Management ako!
