Nightmares

in this ThAn0s died before endgame and everyone else is still alive, peter did not get snapped but loki did. 

ever since ThAn0s snapped everyone loki has been having nightmares every night, however loki refused to tell anyone about them because he did not want to be seen as weak.

to say peter woke up would be implying that he had been asleep however peter did not get a second of sleep last night because he heard someone crying all night and he did not know what to do it sounded like it came from loki's room, peter did not know loki that well so he decided to wait until breakfast and ask him about it. As peter went down to breakfast he could smell cap's cooking so he sped up a bit, 'morning' he said making a bee line for the stack of pancakes in front of where he sits at the table, next to loki, 'thanks cap these are amazing' pete said smiling at cap 'thanks pete' can said smiling back. after a while peter noticed that loki had not said anything all morning 'uhh.. h-hey Mr loki are you ok' pete said putting a hand on loki's shoulder, loki flinched at the sudden contact 'what, yes i am ok child' loki said not looking at pete 'mr loki are you scared of anything?' pete asked looking at loki, 'no child i am a god and gods are not afraid of anything' loki replied again without looking at peter, as loki left the room he got death glares from everyone else, the rest of the avengers still had not forgiven him for the attack on New York

that night when peter lay in bed he heard loki crying again and felt bad, this time he decided to go and check on him, on his way to loki's room peter decided to go and get some hot cocoa and his phone just in case, peter knocked on loki's door but got no answer as the sobs continued so he decided to open the door, so that's what he did, loki was wrapped in his blankets sobbing in his sleep *must be a nightmare* thought peter, he put the hot cocoas down on the dresser and went to go and comfort the clearly distressed god, 'h-hey mr loki, it's peter, you are having a nightmare so you need to wake up, it's ok i promise, i am here' pete sat down on loki's bed next to him and was surprised when loki threw his arms around peter's neck and started sobbing onto his shirt 'h-hey its ok mr loki, i brought hot cocoa to you want to talk about it?' peter spoke softly, he felt loki nod and sit up 'here you go' peter said handing loki his hot cocoa ' do you want to talk about it, you don't have to if you don't want to' peter asked softly, loki shook his head and took a sip of his hot cocoa 'ok, that's ok, do you want me to stay and help you sleep?'peter asked, ' um y-yeah if you don't mind, you can lay down if you want' loki said speaking for the first time that night, his voice was raspy. Peter lay down and loki lay next to him with his head on peters chest, peter got out his phone and put some music on softly he began to sing

peter realised that loki had fallen asleep once he had finished singing so he put his cocoa down, turned his phone off and went too sleep. That is where the avengers found the two boys in the morning, asleep in loki's bed with loki's head on his chest with two half full cups of cocoa on the dresser.
