Alanna Sky Bauer

We started dinner, Astrid seemed fine now but I knew her like the back of my hand, I would know when she's hurt because her eyes tell stories she refuse to speak about. I want to know what was wrong. I stared at her with my eyes full of worry. She looked back at me, her eyes were sparkling, but it was the kind of sparkle that tears would do to our eyes.

"You two are going to melt each other with those stares" dad interrupted making me flinch and look at him, I saw Astrid smile a little

"So Astrid, how did you and Alanna meet?" Dad asked

"We're classmates sir, we first met when I came to this town, although I doubt Alanna noticed me back then" she replied

"How come?" He asked again

It was fun to see them getting along

"Well, when I came to the school I had no one I knew except Madison and Addy, then I saw her but I was so intimidated by her that I froze whenever she walked close to me, I was afraid of being shut down cause she never looked my way so I just let her be" she continued

"I never knew you wanted to become friends with me" I uttered making them both look at me

"Well you never really let anyone in your personal bubble" dad answered then both of them chuckled

"Also you never really let yourself see the people around you, you always seemed to close the doors to your world" she continued

"So I feel special that you let me in" she uttered, I gave her a smile

"Also Astrid, don't call me sir, you can call me Harry, or Elliot, or Mr. Bauer, or better yet... dad" he uttered making me choke on my food

"Dad... oh my God" I uttered meekly

I coughed as I reached for my water while Astrid was laughing at me

"Sure Mr. Bauer, I'll save dad for when she can finally give me her last name and we're older" Astrid replied smiling as she winked at me making me choke on my water this time

"You two aren't going to let me finish dinner quietly are you" my voice was coarse from coughing

They both laughed at me as I tried to contain my smile.

Little talks.

This could've been perfect, only two people were missing, my sister and mom. The thought of Amarra coming back frequently crossed my mind these days.

Would I be happy to see her?

Would I be mad at her because she left without saying goodbye?

I wouldn't know what to feel if I suddenly see her standing before me, all I know is that right now I was missing her.

If mom was here, would she smack my dad for his terrible dad jokes?

Would she and Astrid get along?

Would she accept our relationship?

I was juggling questions in my mind as we were having dinner, and knowing I don't have the answer to any of those made me feel blue. I shrugged all my thoughts off and focused on what was in front of me, I want this day to be memorable and filled with joy.
