Alanna Sky BauerWe found ourselves running along the shore gently splashing the water with our feet. I wrapped my arms around her waist and hugged her, she laughed, it echoed through the night and made my heart race as if it's a sweet melody my heart was longing to hear. She turned around and faced me as she wrapped her arms around my neck and touched our foreheads together. Slowly, I followed her as she swayed side to side, we danced with the silver light as our spotlight. Her dress was flowing with the wind, her eyes were glistening everytime I steal a glance at them, her lips curved upwards as she raised her head to look at me.
"I love you" she uttered
"I know I say it too much, but I just want you to know" she continued
"I love you too" I replied as I tucked her hair behind her ears and slowly touched our lips together
We danced for hours but like all moments it passed like a shooting star, one second it's here the next it's gone.
632nd.
Dancing.
We decided to go home as it was getting late. We drove through the silent and empty road. It felt like a scene from a movie where the two protagonist escape reality.
An hour passed and finally we were home, we noticed the lights were still on even though it was already 1 in the morning. We stepped out of the car and headed to the door. We heard voices talking. Maybe dad and Amarra are still awake.
As we opened the door, I saw Astrid's mom sitting in the kitchen. Astrid froze when she saw her mom and held my hand tightly.
"Mom? What are you doing here?" She asked
"Astrid come home please" her mom answered
"Why, so you could just lock me up again?" She replied
"What I'm doing is what's best for you" her mom stood up and looked at our intertwined hands
"You don't know what's best for me, you stopped caring when Terrence died" Astrid replied
"Don't you dare bring your brother into this, you don't have the right" she shouted
"It's you who doesn't have the right, you stopped remembering him" Astrid responded
"It's all your fault!" Her mom shouted at her
Beads of tears formed in Astrid's eye as she stood still, she looked away from her mom and wiped her tears
"Leave" Astrid uttered
Her mom walked towards the door and stopped in front of us
"It's a sin" she uttered before finally leaving
I couldn't believe someone would say that to others for being with someone they love, least of all, her mom. Love is not a sin, it's what humans were made to do, and we're in love with each other I hope her mom understands that.
Astrid faced me and wrapped her hands around my neck
"Are you okay? I'm sorry" she uttered with her whimpering voice. She's the one who's hurt, yet she still worries about me
