Chapter 38- Gone

I woke up earlier than usual, I reached out my hand to check on Astrid only to feel the soft pillows beside me. I opened my eyes and realized that she was not beside me anymore.

Maybe she's outside.

I walked out of my room and into the living room and kitchen but still there was no sign of her. I looked for her in the garden but I still couldn't find her. My heart started beating rapidly so I went to the garage only to realize my car wasn't there.

She must've went somewhere.

I decided to take my dad's car to look for her. I drove to the park first but I couldn't see my car anywhere near so I drove out of the city to find her.

An hour has passed and still she hasn't called or text me. My mind went through all the terrible things it could think of, it seemed stronger than usual, I couldn't even think straight. If people could take a glimpse of my thoughts right now they could only cry at the sight of it.

My phone rang, my heart skipped a beat at the sound.

It was Astrid.

"Hey, it's me" she said as she was sniffing

"Where are you? I'm so worried about you" I asked her all frantic

"It doesn't matter" she replied

"Remember when I said if I were to live again I would want to be the moon?" She asked

"Yeah why? Astrid please tell me what's wrong" I pleaded

"If I were to be the moon, I'd watch over you always, and on days I'm gone I'd ask the stars to look after you" she uttered as her voice breaks

"Astrid what are you saying?" I asked with my voice shaking

"Every moment I spent with you were the best days of my life, if I could choose to relive those moments, I would, even the painful ones" her voice whimpered

"You saw through me when everybody else didn't and for that, thank you so much"

"No words could express how much I adore you, how much I love you, and how much I'll miss you" she uttered making me burst into tears

I put her on speaker and drove back to town trying to find where she could be.

"I'll miss how you look lovingly into my eyes, how your soft lips would touch mine and instantly send electricity through my body, I'll miss how your mind instantly reads mine, I'll miss how you always kiss my forehead, all those hugs you gave, I'll miss how our hands perfectly intertwine, I'll miss how we sing to each other, I'll miss everything about you" she uttered making my heart beat faster than the speed of light

"Astrid please, please tell me where you are, don't do anything please" I cried out

"I'll be fine Alanna, but please I'll only ask for this favor, take care of yourself, your family, and please look after mom and dad, and please don't leave Addy and Madison" she uttered, I could hear her cries

"Astrid don't you dare hang up the phone, please just tell me where you are I'll go there, I'm here for you... please" my cries got louder as we talk
