Chapter 7

Jeno groaned as he rolled to the side of his bed, turning off his alarm. He looked at his phone, noticing that he got a couple of messages.

Jiwoo
Hey, what are you doing today?

He quickly typed a reply.

Jeno
Studying with Jaemin in the study area downstairs, want to join?

Jiwoo
Oh, I was going to ask if you wanted to study with Rena, Renjun, Haechan, and I in the study area of the female dorms.

Jeno
Maybe we can meet for dinner then?

Jiwoo
Sure

Jeno opened up the next message he got.

Jaemin
Hey, just woke up. Meet you downstairs at 10?

Jeno looked at the time. 9:32 am.

Jeno
Sounds good

Jeno sighed, getting out of bed to get ready before meeting Jaemin.

"Is Jeno coming?" Rena asked Jiwoo as they made their way downstairs to the study area.

"No, he's going to study with Jaemin." Jiwoo told her. Rena flinched at the sound of Jaemin's name.

"He really doesn't believe me, does he?" Rena asked. Jiwoo shook her head.

"I tried Rena, I really did but Jeno truly believes that there's nothing wrong with Jaemin." Jiwoo told her. Rena gave her a weak smile.

"It's okay Jiwoo, as long as I have you on my side." Rena said, patting the girl on the arm.

Jeno and Jaemin had only been studying for fifteen minutes and Jeno could tell that Jaemin was already getting distracted by the way he was fiddling with the pen in his hands, barely any words in his notebook. Jeno was getting annoyed as well, knowing that they had a quiz coming up.

"Jaemin are you going to study or just stare at the ceiling all day?" Jeno asked. He noticed Jaemin snap back into his senses.

"Sorry, I was just thinking." Jaemin said, turning to his notebook. A second later, he was glancing at Jeno.

"Yes?" Jeno asked, noticing the stare.

"I was just thinking about Dongwook." Jaemin said. Jeno sighed, sitting up straight as he realized that they weren't going to get much studying done.

"Why would you think about him?" Jeno asked.

"I mean, the agency building holds the terrible criminals so wouldn't it be dangerous to hold him so close to other students?" Jaemin asked. Jeno gave him a weird look.

"Jaemin, are you forgetting that," that's when Jeno realized what he was about to say. Dongwook is held in the agency's confinement building, which is far away from here.

"Did I forget something?" Jaemin asked him.

"Yeah, the building has such high security, it would be hard for him to escape." Jeno said, before turning to his notes.

"Right." Jaemin said, picking up his pen again. Jeno began packing his things. "Are you going somewhere?" Jaemin asked.

"Yeah, I just forgot that I promised that I'd train with Jiwoo today." Jeno said, throwing his bag over his shoulder.
