Renjun stared at the notebook in his hands. Minjee had dropped it when she was getting ready for her exam, and the notebook had fell to Renjun's feet. He had wanted to give it back to her but the exam was about to start so he told himself he would give it to her afterwards. Unfortunately though, he had finished early like he usually did and had to leave the classroom.
When the book fell, it had opened to a page on the potion Minjee created for their project. It was her plan for it. Renjun couldn't help but feel curious as to why it didn't work.
Don't do it, you know what they say. Curiosity killed the cat.
Renjun shook his head before letting out a deep sigh, deciding to ignore his own thoughts and opening the notebook. He turned to the page describing her potion. He chuckled as he read the ingredients.
She should have added faerie dust. That's what she forgot.
Renjun's eyes widened as he saw the instructions for the potion.
So it says here that the person must drink it in front of the person they want to fall out of love with, staring into their eyes. But it was only Minjee and I in the room when she drank it, and she was staring at me.
That's when it hit Renjun.
But then that means...
"Isn't that Minjee's?" Haechan asked as he took his seat beside the male. "And what did your parents say about me coming over for Christmas?" Instead of answering, Renjun said something else.
"You like Minjee." Haechan was silent, nothing to say to his friend.
"And." Renjun added, looking down at the table. "She likes me."
...
The mark in front of Minjee was good. It was really good, a 98, the highest mark of their class. But for some reason, the thought of potions felt like a loss.
Minjee sighed as she placed her marked rubric inside of her bag. With exams almost over, she would soon be back home with the Witch Coven.
And Renjun.
Minjee glanced at the boy's empty desk. Renjun had left their exam half an hour early, like usual, and was probably already settled in the library, studying for his next exam.
Minjee sighed as she slung her bag over shoulder, saying goodbye to Doyoung before heading to the library to do the same.
...
"What are two things you can't have for dinner?" Lucas asked Mark as they walked out of their exam.
"What?"
"Breakfast and dinner?" Mark was trying not to laugh at the dumb joke but Lucas' eager expression made him giggle.
"That wasn't even good!" Mark whined. Lucas shrugged.
"You still laughed though." Lucas said with a michievous grin.
"Whatever." Mark said, turning around to see Yuri slowly dragging her feet as she walked out of the classroom, staring at her phone. He exchanged looks with Hendery who was behind her with Xiaojun. Hendery only shrugged.
"Hey, are you alright?" Mark asked. Yuri immediately looked up, placing her phone in her pocket.
"Yeah." Yuri simply replied. Mark could tell she was forcing the smile.
"Liar." Lucas said immediately. "What's wrong."
Yuri glanced at her friends before sighing. "Have you submitted your Upper School applications?"
