Chapter 18

"What do you mean bring Jaemin back?" Rena asked. She was furious. After all this time of her begging to work on Jaemin's case, they were finally listen. But Doyoung had to be taken away in order for this to happen.

"With Doyoung, our smartest agent gone, that means that whatever we're fighting is getting smarter and stronger every day. We can't delay this any longer and need to get Jaemin and Doyoung out as soon as possible." Jaehyun told them. Rena raised an eyebrow.

"And how exactly do you plan on doing that?" Rena asked. Jaehyun turned to Renjun.

"With Doyoung gone, we need a strategist." Jaehyun told him. Renjun nodded.

"I can work on it, but I'll need information." Renjun told him.

"Haechan has been on a few undercover missions, you can work with him and if there's anything else you need, just let one of us know." Jaehyun said.

"What about the rest of us?" Jeno asked, arms crossed. Rena was glad that she wasn't the only one feeling useless.

"For now, just help Renjun out with whatever he needs." Jaehyun said, but they weren't convinced. Why would he call all of them when he only really needed Renjun?

"Jaehyun." They turned around to see Taeyong leaning on the door frame, staring at them. "You're not telling them everything."

Jaehyun let out a deep sigh of defeat. "Fine. The truth is the leaders are in way above our heads and need all the help we can get."

"You look stressed." Yangyang pointed out. Renjun aggressively jabbed the food on his plate.

"Yeah, well the agency is basically on my shoulders at this point. With Doyoung gone, everyone is counting on me." Renjun told him. Yangyang nodded his head.

"Well, what do you have planned so far?" Yangyang asked.

"Nothing, that's the problem." Renjun confessed. "I don't know what we're going up against."

"Maybe that's where we can start." Yangyang said. "If we learn more about shapeshifters, maybe we can find something."

"Yeah but we don't have that much time nor a book on shapeshifters." Renjun told him. Yangyang tapped his chin in thought.

"Yeah but we do have a shapeshifter locked up. Maybe we can use it to find its weakness." Yangyang suggested. Renjun's eyes lit up.

"Yangyang, you're a genius."

Jaemin's room first.

Jaehyun had given Yangyang the key to Jaemin's room that the shapeshifter had. He observed the items on the chain. One of them was a picture of him and Rena.

"That's cute." Hendery said from beside him. Yangyang nodded in agreement.

"It's a shame that they broke up." Yangyang pointed out. Hendery shrugged his shoulders.

"They may have broken up but they still clearly have feelings for each other." Hendery said, pointing to the keychain. "What are we looking for, anyways?"

"Anything that would give us a hint about a shapeshifter's weakness." Yangyang told him. When they got to Jaemin's room, a girl was standing there, arms crossed as she leaned on the door.

"What are you doing here?" Yangyang asked, narrowing his eyes.

"I know Jaemin better than anyone else. If there was something off, I'll be the first to tell you."
