Thirty

Prom night came quicker than anticipated. You stood in the mirror, getting ready for the night. Shuri was nagging Wanda to zip up her dress as Wanda applied her lipstick. The two had come over to get ready and go to the dance with you. But you sat around talking for who knows how long then began scrambling to get ready with an hour or less to do so.

Turning away from the mirror you glanced around your mess of a room. A tornado and earthquake combined couldn't have made the mess the three of you did.

You walked to your closet, kicking things out of the way as you went. Making a pit stop to zip up Shuri's lavender dress. "I'm going to the bathroom to get changed, I'll be back," you told them as you finished zipping the dress closed.

Once changed you walked back to your room but stopped and Tony's door first. Music was blasting from behind the door and you figured knocking would be pointless. Dropping what was in your arms you creaked the door open and peeped in before walking in.

Tony sat at his desk tinkering away. So into what he was doing, he hadn't even noticed you yet.

"What are you doing?" you yelled to him over his music.

"Jesus!" he shouted with a jump and turned toward you. He shook his head and turned down the music. "You scared the shit out of me."

"Yeah, I noticed."

"What are you doing in here? Shouldn't you be getting ready for prom?"

You looked down at yourself, "I am ready. I came in to see if you were ready."

"Huh?"

"Get your tux on loser, you're going to prom."

"What?"

You rolled your eyes, "You. Are. Going. To. Prom."

"No, no, I got that, but how? Are mom and dad letting me go?"

"Pfft, no. We're sneaking you out of here. When the others come to pick us up in about..." you dragged out as you checked the time on your phone, "fifteen minutes we'll be downstairs taking pictures, and then you'll go out the window and meet us down the block at Thor's car."

"Why are you just now telling me this?" he shouted. "I only have fifteen minutes to do my hair?!"

"You can do it in the car! For now, worry about getting your suit on and out the door!"

"Technically I'll be going out a window."

"Really? That's what you're concerned with?"

He shrugged.

"Just get changed! I'll knock on your door when they get here."

"Jeez okay."

You went back to your room and attempted to pick up the mess. Wanda and Shuri went around as well gathering up everything that was theirs.

"They're almost here, Vis just texted me."

"Shit!" you exclaimed, rushing around your room double checking your bag and yourself.

You heard the doorbell and the three of you looked at one another wide eyed.

"You guys ready?" you asked.

They nodded.

Leaving the room you gave a quick tap on Tony's door. Your mother began calling for you so you rushed over to the top of the stairs where Wanda and Shuri were waiting.

"Ready to descend down the stairs like a fancy ass princess?" Shuri asked.

"Hell yeah."

"Wait, hold on, I know tonight's been insane but I just wanted to let you guys know you look absolutely amazing and I love you both and tonight will hopefully be really fun." you rambled to the two.
