Ellen
Saturday, February 18
Kevin had a day with zero controversies, no inner conflict, nor worries about his wife or principal. Peace. That's what Kevin needed. He finished a letter to Mr. Smith explaining the purpose of the speed math drills. He got in a run under the sun. He did some grading and planning. All went according to how he wanted the day to go. Perfect.

That night, he met Miguel for a late dinner at the Boar's Head. Candy was their server.
"So Miguel, still seeing her?"
"Oh, once in a while. Including tonight when she gets off at nine."
Kevin smiled. "Her shift ends early. Going out on a date?"
"She started at noon today. She will have finished a full day's work by then, so I need to be considerate. We might not spend much time outside. I don't wish to do anything that might negatively affect her stamina."
"Yes, consideration is your middle name." They smiled.
Candy stopped by, bringing beverages. At the same time, another gal that Kevin remembered brought them their nachos. Candy had introduced them once before, but did so again.
"This is Ellen." She smiled as she left the nachos. Just a smile, but she looked directly at Kevin. He noticed. She had freckles and laughing eyes. Quite a figure. A looker. He felt himself stirring. Ellen left, as did Candy, and they started to eat.
Candy returned several times. Ellen did not. But when Kevin used the restroom, while returning to his table, he passed near where she was standing, and she smiled again. "Beautiful night, Ellen," he said.
How cliche can I get? At least I remembered her name.
"You know, it really is," she responded. And again she looked directly into his eyes and gave him a big smile. This lady was not shy. Kevin felt an increase in both his attraction to Ellen and his confidence around her.
Back at the table, Candy was attentive to Miguel, but not overly so. That would come later. She left.
"She says that Ellen started her shift at the same time Candy did and that she is recently divorced. Ellen gave her a ride to work, so I guess I will have to drive Candy home."
"Is that so?" Kevin responded but chose to say nothing else. He guessed what they were trying to do.
Just after nine o'clock, he and Miguel paid their check, left a large tip, and headed to their separate cars. Kevin sat in his Datsun and watched as Candy got into Miguel's and they drove off. What am I doing?
Then Ellen came out, walked by Kevin's car, looked directly at him as she did so, then got into her vehicle, and drove off. Slowly. Kevin followed her.
She parked her car at an apartment complex a short drive from his own residence. She got out of the car, again slowly, and so did he. Kevin approached, and she looked directly at him.
"You followed me home." She smiled. "Would you like to come in?"
"Yes, please. I'd like that very much."
She turned, and he followed. Her hips swayed just enough in her tight jeans. She knew he was watching and enjoyed his attention, but didn't need to exaggerate anything. She was one of those women who had it, naturally sexy without being overly so. Kevin felt her confidence, like when she stared at him. Ellen felt at ease with herself and her beauty. She had a look between the girl next door and a movie starlet.
