I hummed as Traitor drove us to our date site, which he refused to tell me where it was. I looked at him as he smiled cheekily at me."Why won't you just tell me where we're going?" I asked slightly annoyed.
"Because then it would ruin the fun," he replied with a chuckle, knowing he was being annoying.
I rolled my eyes as I looked out of the window, looking at the rain pouring down. I sighed as I awaited for us to arrive at our mystery date.
"There's going to be a full moon tonight," I said to start a conversation, breaking the silence. "You sure you're going to be home before then?"
"Yeah, if worst comes to worst, and we end up having too much fun, I guess I'll just have to keep you longer and take you home with me." He smirked slightly, making me roll my eyes.
"If that does happen, you're lucky I have the weekend off anyway."
He nodded before asking, "By the way, why do you have the weekend off? You work harder than anyone else I know."
"I've worked too much overtime, and my boss forced me to finally take a break. I guess I should be grateful, but at the same time, I feel like I'm not making enough as I should."
I heard him sigh, "You know, you can take a break every once in a while and it'll be fine. Taking a day or two off isn't that bad."
"It is for me, Traitor," I stated. "I earn eleven dollars an hour; that's less than three hundred dollars during the week. And on the weekends, when I work up to fourteen hour days, I get about one fifty. By the end of the month, that's only about two grand, which is barely enough for my rent, and I can only afford the minimum essentials. So yeah, I work a lot if I wanna keep a roof over my head."
He was silent for a moment, I looked over to make sure he was still alive. After another moment, he just mumbled, "Wow."
"What? You knew I didn't make a lot."
"Yeah, but I didn't know how bad..."
"Don't-" I exhaled slowly to keep me from raising my voice. "Please, let's not talk about this anymore."
He nodded respectfully, smiling as he changed the subject. "Well, I hope you're hungry, because we're here."
I looked out of the window to see the restaurant. It was a large dark brown building with The It Place in giant letters on the front.
I looked at Traitor suspiciously, "You promised not to take me anywhere expensive."
He smiled, "It's not that expensive. Besides, you need to let loose a bit."
I sighed as we got out of the car, I swear this boy was gonna kill me...
When we walked in, I looked at the stunning interior. I thought it was going to be extremely bright with giant chandeliers and shit based on the outside, but instead it was warm and quaint. Books can be misleading, I guess.
Once we got seated and recieved our menus, I almost slapped the shit out of Traitor.
"What the fuck is this?!"
He looked at me confused, "What?"
"Most of the stuff on the menu costs more than my monthly groceries, and you said-!"
I was cut of with him saying, "I know, but you need to chill. This might be expensive for you, but I still feel like I haven't thanked you enough for helping with my sister."
He gave me a look of sincerity and gratitude. I sighed as I mumbled, "Fine, but don't expect me to be nice about this."
He chuckled, "Well, I gotta find entertainment somehow, right?"
