Traitor rubbed his head as we got out of the car. He glared at me as he whined, "I said I was sorry!""You shouldn't have smacked my ass in the first place!" I yelled back, not caring that we were in front of other students.
"Will you two just kiss and make up, already?!" Ren screamed, clearly annoyed with the banter that occurred throughout the entire car ride.
"I wish, but she'd probably just hit me again!"
"Stop being so dramatic! I didn't even hit you that hard."
He rubbed his head more. "I think I might have a concussion."
I rolled my eyes, hopping on my tiptoes to peck his cheek. "You're ridiculous."
He smirked playfully. "You missed."
He pulled me close and kissed me. I giggled lightly as I kissed back.
"Eww! Gross! My eyes! My poor innocent eyes!" Ren squealed closing her eyes as she walked.
I laughed as I pulled away, walking in the building with them. Traitor kept his arm around my waist as he walked me to my locker, while Ren walked away from us as quickly as possible. We laughed as we got to my locker, completely ignoring the stares and comments that crossed our eyes and ears.
I quickly switched out my stuff to the things I needed. I heard Traitor growl lowly, making me snap my head around. I groaned internally as the group we- unfortunately- knew all too well approach us.
Todd smirked as he spoke first. "So, I see she's finally whipped you, Traitor. How does it feel to belong to a little bitch like that?"
He growled as he stepped closer. "I am not whipped, and she is not a bitch."
"Oh sure, so she hit my best friend for nothing, then?" Kyle asked, trying to get under our skin.
Traitor went to step forward again, but I held his arm to keep him back. I glared at them as I stepped forward.
"First of all, I punched this piece of shit in the face because he deserved it, and I will not hesitate to do it again. Second, I would just love it if you could all back the fuck off. I don't have the time or patience to deal with your stupidity."
And with that, I grabbed Traitor's arm, and walked away before another fight broke out. I was so tired of them. Part of me wanted to beat the shit out of them, but I knew that wouldn't solve anything. I just had to make sure that Traitor stayed out of trouble, because I knew that if I left him alone with them, he'd rip their heads off.
I groaned loudly as we reached his locker. "I fucking hate them," I mumbled.
"I get that, and I'd love to break them apart for you. I know you don't like violence, but they're not gonna stop."
I sighed, crossing my arms over my chest as I leaned against the lockers. "I know, I just wanna know why. Why are they doing this? Why am I the target? It's just not fair."
"I know babe, and we'll deal with it. For now, I want you to relax, okay? I don't want my little angel to be upset the whole day."
I smiled at him sweetly. "I'm no angel, but I do appreciate the concern."
He smiled back, grabbing my waist. "You're my angel, and I'm allowed to treat you like one."
I rolled my eyes playfully. "You're such a cheese ball."
He chuckled lightly with a shrug. "Maybe," he replied before pecking my nose. "Now, come on," he added, "I'm making sure you get to class in one piece."
I smiled at his protectiveness, it was becoming one of my favorite things about him. He wrapped his arm around my waist as he walked me to my first period. He kissed me and told me to have a good day until he saw me for lunch. As he walked away, part of me melted a bit as I wondered...
Am I falling for him?
----------
After lunch, I had two periods with Traitor, so I felt better about the whole situation, especially since Todd was in our last class together. After class was over, Traitor ditched his last period so he could take me to work, telling me that I "wasn't safe alone, and that I needed him."
He was such a worry wart, but it didn't bother me. (as much)
We chatted as he drove me to work, not letting the negative thoughts get to us. I smiled lazily at him, admiring his beautiful features.
"Thank you," I burted out.
He raised a brow at me. "For what?"
"For...everything, I guess. You've taken care of me for a while, and you've been so kind and protective. I just...I felt like I needed to thank you."
His smile curled from ear to ear, a joyful glint in his eye. "Well, your welcome, darlin'. I just want you to feel as safe and cared for as you should be. I want nothing to ever worry you again."
He placed his hand over mine, his touch making my blush lightly. I smiled as he gave my hand a gentle squeeze, relaxing me.
We soon arrived at my job, so I sadly had to leave him. He walked me inside, kissing me goodbye before leaving. I bit my lip slightly to keep my face from burning off.
I swear, that boy was gonna kill me...
----------
After work, Traitor picked me up, informing me that I was staying at his place again, so he could continue to watch me. When we got there, we ate dinner before sitting in his bed, watching the A Nightmare on Elm Street marathon. He pulled me into his side, holding me close as we watched the tv mindlessly.
I soon felt sleep take over me, but not wanting to move. I allowed myself to fall asleep in his arms, a small smile on my face as I let the darkness take over me.
----------
Traitor's POV
I smiled as I watched her fall asleep in my arms. She was so peaceful, and I didn't exactly want to move her, so I just turned off the tv and the lamp so I could go to bed. I shifted so I was on my back, and her tucked into my side. I took in her beautiful scent, smiling as I drifted off to sleep.
A while later, I was woken up by Alex shaking in her sleep. She wasn't cold, in fact, she was sweating profusely, which made me worry. Soon, she was thrashing around. I tried to keep her arms down as she flailed around, but she was fighting hard.
I was flung back into the wall, while she went the other direction. She continued to thrash violently on the floor, her groans now becoming screams. I tried to move, but I couldn't. It was like I was glued to the wall.
"Alex!" I yelled, trying to get her to wake up, but to no avail.
She finally stopped moving, heavily breathing as she just laid there. I went to sigh in relief, but it was interrupted by the horrible sound of breaking bones. Her arms and legs seemed to shift out of place, much like we looked like when we shifted. But she wasn't a wolf, so I was extremely concerned.
She arched her back in pain, letting out another scream. I tried moving again, but it still wasn't working. I heard the patter of feet in the halls, meaning my family was on their way to check on what the fuck was happening.
The second the door flung open, the moment changed. Alex's body flew up in the air, hovering at least ten feet above the ground. She was gasping for air as her body seemed to go limp. Her body stayed up there for a few more moments, before whatever had a hold of her let go and she came crashing down.
When her body hit the floor, I felt the weight on my body being removed. I crawled over to her, holding her in my arms as tears welded up in my eyes. My family was talking, but I wasn't paying attention to them. All I was focused on was the slow breathing coming from my precious angel.
"Alex! Alex, wake up! Please..." I cried out, shaking her slightly.
What the fuck was going on with her?!?
