I started to wake up, hearing the sounds of beeping slowly growing louder. I groaned as I tried to open my eyes, bright lights invading my sight. I heard a voice, though I couldn't place who it was, I had a feeling that it was someone I knew.

After a few more attempts, I finally opened my eyes. I blinked away the fuzziness, taking in my surroundings. I was in a large white room with large machines hooked into me. I felt warmth in my hand, so I looked to my right. I saw a tired Traitor sitting next to my bed, holding my hand with a relieved smile.

"Alex, thank Goddess you're okay!" He softly yelled in excitement.

I couldn't help but smile at his worry over me. "Hi," I replied in a hoarse tone.

He quickly handed me a cup of cold water, helping me drink some before putting it back on the table.

"I'm so glad you're awake."

"Wh...why am I here?"

He sighed softly. "When we were at the park, you started screaming, and then you passed out. So, I brought you to our pack's hospital."

I groaned as the memories flowed back into me. The burning. The pain. The fear. Damn it...

The door opened up, releavling a man, probably in his late forties, with salt and pepper hair and a kind smile.

"Good, you're awake. I'm Doctor Rector, but you can call me Rex." His voice was deep, but gentle, making me feel comfortable being here.

"Hi Doc, I'm Alex."

"Yes, I know. Mr. Vadállat informed me. Now, if you're up for it, I'd like to ask you some questions."

I sat up a bit, thankful that the pain was no longer there. "Alright, ask away."

"Do you know why you passed out?"

"The pain. It felt like my back was on fire."

He wrote something down before continuing. "Yes, well, when we examined you, you had burn marks from a previous encounter. Would you please care to explain that?"

I sighed nervously. "Last year, I had a...household accident."

He got the hint that I didn't want to elaborate, so he moved on.

"Do you have any reason why your burns were hurting?"

I shook my head. "No, I don't. It just came out of nowhere."

He wrote down some more, before clicking his pen, and smiling. "Alright, Miss Kathleen, that's all I have to ask of you. All of your vitals are clear, and your tests show you have no other issues, so you're free to go. I do have to say that you are a tad malnourished, so if you could watch how much you're eating, that would be great. Otherwise, you can get dressed, and have a good night."

"Thank you Rex," Traitor said. "I appreciate your help."

"It's no problem, Future Alpha. I'll send in the paperwork, so she can leave. Good night you two." He smiled at us before leaving the room.

I sighed as I lead back against the bed. "I'm sorry, Traitor. I know this wasn't how you wanted to spend your day-"

"Hey, you don't have to apologize for anything, Alex." He smiled as he pushed some of my hair out of my face.

"I just...don't understand..."

"I know, but don't worry about it. Get dressed, I'm gonna do the paperwork so we can leave, okay?"

I nodded as he let go of my hand and left. I sat back up with a sigh, searching for my clothes. Once I spotted them folded on the table, I swung my legs over the side, wobbling a bit as I stood. I made my way to my clothes, taking off my hospital gown, and putting my clothing back on. As I was putting my boots on, there was a knock on the door.
