I woke up after a restless night's sleep to the bright sun coming in from behind the curtains. I sighed as I sat up, rubbing my eyes tiredly. I stood up, tidying my hair into a semi-decent ponytail as I walked out of the room. I walked down the hall to Ren's room, opening the door to check on her, but she wasn't in bed.I stood in confusion for a moment, where could she be this early?
I then heard the sound of water turning off, turning to see Ren step out of the bathroom in a towel. She looked like she hadn't slept in a month, and her skin was red and irritated with some scratches all over her body.
Weird, I didn't spot those last night.
She looked up at me, holding her towel closer to her as I stepped towards her.
"Hey, you okay?" I asked softly.
Her eyes immediately filled with tears as she shook her head, lowering her eyes. "No," she cried out, "I feel like m-my-my skin isn't...isn't mine anymore. Like... L-li-like there's s~omething in-inside of me, crawling around and... It's festering and...feeding on me..."
She looked back up at me as she continued, "Why did this h-happen to me?"
I walked up to her, gently wrapping my arms around her comfortingly. She cried into my chest as I just held her for a while.
Who could do this to someone? I can't even image how vialated she must feel.
"I'm so sorry that happened, Ren," I said softly. "If it makes you feel better, Traitor and I took care of them last night."
She looked at me confused, "You did? But...how did you...?"
"We'll talk about that later, right now I want you to get dressed. My mission today is to take care of you," I said with a sweet smile.
She nodded, going over to her dresser and picking out clothes. I stood outside of the door as she got dressed, waiting for her to get ready and open the door. When she did just that, I went back in the room, sitting on her bed with her.
"Alex," she started softly, "I-I'm glad you're here."
I smiled slightly, "Of course, I'll always be here for you."
She smiled at me, resting her head on my shoulder. "So...how were you able to, you know, get me out of there?"
I sighed, not wanting to go through what happened, but I'd have to tell her eventually. I looked down at my lap as I started, "I'm a white witch, or wiccan if I'm being technical. Basically, I was born with natural abilities, and I use my powers to heal and help others."
She looked up at me curiously, "Really? But... What did you do to them?"
"Not enough honestly."
She smiled slightly, "Good answer."
I smiled back as she sat up, saying, "You're lucky we didn't have a murder on our hands though, because your brother nearly killed them."
She looked down as she mumbled, "Why would that be bad though?"
"Hey, I know what they did was unforgivable, but they don't deserve to die over it."
She growled quietly, "They deserve to suffer."
"They will be, Ren. The universe will come back at them and give them just what they deserve."
She shifted uncomfortably, fiddling with her fingers. I wanted to make her feel better, but I didn't know how-
Wait... Yes I did.
I stood up and held my arms out towards her with a smile, "C'mon."
She raised a brow as she looked at me. "What?"
