I had texted Marcus yes and currently I was shadowboxing in my room getting ready. It was only 10pm and my fight wasn't until 11 so I figured I would warm up a bit. Being taller and stronger did come with its advantages though if you know how to use them in your favor. I was knocked out of my thoughts when my bedroom door opened. Victoria popped her head into the room with a confused look, "What are you doing?" I put my hands down and went to sit at the edge of my bed, "Warming up for later." Victoria walked into my room and sat down on the bed next to me, "Fight." I nodded and looked at her. She still didn't like the fact that I fight because she doesn't want me to get hurt but she comes to a lot more fights then she used to. I still have her face be covered because the people that watch the fights are very unpredictable. "I'm sorry Vic but it brings us enough money for us not to worry about losing the apartment. Plus remember what I say..." I looked over at Victoria who smiled lightly finishing my sentence, "Seeker never goes down." I bumped her shoulder lightly and smiled, "I never go down, you have nothing to worry about." She looked over and up at me showing me her trust in her eyes. I opened my arms and she wrapped hers around my waist cuddling up to me and put her head in my neck. I kissed the top of her head and leaned my head against hers. "I want to come." Victoria mumbled against my neck. Pulling back slightly I raised my eyebrow at her, "Are you sure?" She nodded and put her head back into my neck. "Okay well we have..." I looked over to my alarm clock on my nightstand to see the time, "About half an hour before we have to go. What would you like to do for the time being?" She hummed and said, "Lets just stay here." I squeezed her lightly as an agreement and closed my eyes.
We broke apart when we had 10 minutes left before we had to leave to get ready. She left to get ready in her room while I changed into my signature outfit. My black spandex, red sports bra, and black Nike shoes. I put my hair up into a ponytail and started wrapping my hands when Victoria walked back into the room. "Mar is outside waiting for us." I looked over at her seeing her in a big hoodie and mask in her other hand. Smiling I quickly finished my hands and we both went to leave with her taking the apartment keys. Sitting passenger I leaned over the console to hug Marcus, "Hey Mar how have you been?" We broke the hug and he started driving answering the question. "Great actually, Stephanie and I are still together even with her crazy hours at the hospital." Victoria answered this time from the back seat, "That's good Mar you honestly deserve it. I'm glad you two are working with the hours." I nodded and reached for the glove box to get my white contacts, mask, and mouth guard. Carefully putting my contacts in I put my mask on tying it while we pulled up to the building. Once we parked we all walked out while Marcus grabbed my mouth guard and gloves. I checked to make sure Victoria's face was covered while I extended my hand for her to take. Intertwining our fingers I pulled her close to me while Marcus walked behind us. Everyone who we passed patted my shoulders, cheered, checked both Victoria and me out with hungry eyes, or simply nodded to me to which I paid no mind to anything. I focused my sights on getting to the ring while making sure Victoria was close behind me in a secure hold. Once at the ring Mark was standing there with his arms crossed. I walked up to him and nodded once as a greeting. "Ah Seeker, glad you could make it." Marcus stood beside us and answered for me, "Seeker never misses a fight. Or loses." Both Marcus and Mark laughed and patted my shoulder before he walked away. Marcus separated the ropes and I walked inside with Victoria following me. When I was in my corner I looked across and watched the smaller girl crawl into the ring. Much smaller then me. Good muscle build. Very thin which probably means she is fast. I started to shake out my limbs and Marcus started to put my gloves on. The ring announcer showed up minutes later and started talking. I ignored him while I continued to study my opponent.
"Fighters meet in the middle!" Victoria put my mouth piece in and I walked to the center with the other girl. "Clean fight, no below the belt hits, and have fun. Touch gloves." I put my right fist out to which she bumped not breaking eye contact. We both walked back to our corners and waited until the fight began. Our staring contest was broken when Victoria stood in front of me. I dropped my guard slightly at the look in her eyes and I pulled her closer to me and whispered the best I could with my mouth guard in, "I will be okay. Now go with Marcus and stay with him the guys are more handsy then usual today." She nodded and squeezed my arm walking out of the ring. DING! DING! DING! Here we go. Putting my hands up we both met at the middle and started circling. The crowd was loud but I blocked everything and everyone out except for my opponent. Deciding to change it up for tonight I stepped forward quickly and threw a left jab catching her off guard. Stunned from the hit, it left her right side open giving me a chance to hit her with a right uppercut and hook. Grunting she fell to the floor and clutched her side. She reached to use the ropes to stand again while I just watched her. When she was upright she lunged at me hitting me in the left side twice before ending up behind me. Spinning on my toes I ignored the stinging and dodged her right jab to my face. It left her right side of her face open which made me able to right hook her in the jaw effectively knocking her out. Catching her before she fell I set her onto the ground and stood back for the ref to check her. I walked back to my corner and heard Marcus say in a whisper, "Good job Faith." Not responding I waited until the ref called me over to announce the winner. "The winner for tonight! Seeker!" Everyone cheered and I lifted my right arm. After he let go I walked to my corner and Marcus started to take off my gloves. Victoria immediately grabbed my hand and pulled me into a tight hug. "How's your side?" She pulled away and looked at where I got hit. I knew I would get a bruise but I also knew it wasn't going to be that bad. "It's already turning dark." I squeezed Victoria's hand to get her to look up at me and saw the hurt in her eyes. Shaking my head slowly I took my mouth guard out and leaned close to her. "I am okay don't worry it's only going to last a couple days. Now come on let's go home." She nodded and I gave my mouth guard to Victoria for her to put it inside the case.
Marcus led us to go collect our money from Mark but on the way there I heard a guy say from my right side, "I am going to get some of that meat." Reacting fast I pulled Victoria in front of me while I turned to the guy who had just missed touching her. With fire in my eyes I took a step towards him but got stopped by Victoria before getting any closer. Not leaving his eyes he quickly put his hands up and took a step back. He is so lucky I don't speak here otherwise he would get a fucking mouthful. Stepping back I put my arm around Victoria's shoulders and pulled her close to me while I looked at all the people around us with threating stares to see if they would test me. They all took a step back and I had to fight the urge to smirk. Marcus was standing in front of me with curious eyes after he realized we weren't behind him, "Something wrong?" Shaking my head and pulling Victoria closer to me he turned back around and started walking again. Victoria laid her head in the gap between my shoulder and neck while we walked the short walk to Mark. "Amazing fight as always Seeker. You never leave anyone disappointed." Getting a wad of cash out of his back pocket he gave it to Marcus's outstretched hand. Looks to be around 2 grand. Good outcome tonight. They shook hands and I felt Victoria tighten her arms around my waist out of discomfort. Looking down at her I noticed her staring at something at her left. Following her eyes I noticed it was the guy from earlier who tried touching her was still looking at her. We locked eyes and he quickly looked away which made me reach for Marcus. Turning around I ushered for him to bend down for me to whisper to him. "Get me that guy who keeps looking at Victoria in the ring now." I tried telling him in the most calm voice. Looking up he quickly locked eyes with the guy and turned to Mark, "A favor Mark?" He nodded and Marcus leaned over to whisper to him. Mark smiled and nodded quickly and turned to two of his guards. Rubbing Victoria's arm in a comforting manner they grabbed the guy and started dragging him to the ring. I started to walk us back to the ring when I heard Victoria whisper to me, "What's happening?" I quietly said, "I'm making an example."
