Hearing muffled talking I groggily opened my eyes and rubbed them. I sat up and stretched while I ran a hand through my hair. I wonder what time it is. Throwing my legs over the side of the bed I stood up and went to the livingroom where Marcus and Stephanie were sitting and talking. The box was sitting in front of them with the pictures next to it. I can't believe he actually went to get it. "Hey she's awake." Stephanie said softly. Smiling slightly I sat down in front of them on the couch. Marcus sat up and looked at me seriously, "You're right that they are targeting you. The only thing is what we are going to do now? Because it's clear we aren't telling anyone else and I believe the police falls onto that line." Nodding I brought my knees to my chest and Stephanie got a call suddenly. "Hello?" "Oh hello Victoria." That made me looked at her with wide eyes. "Oh Faith..." I shook my head at her and she continued, "I haven't seen her yet." Stephanie kept eye contact with me until the end of the call, "Will do Victoria, bye." Hanging up she looked at me and said, "So I think you can figure out that, that was Victoria looking for you. It's been 8 hours since you guys came from the coffee cafe. She's worried about you Faith." Sighing I looked at my hands and said, "I know she is but I just need to think for a bit. And for our conversation Mar no I don't want to tell the police or anyone else. The less people that know the better. Also I want to fight tonight, I need a distraction." Marcus sighed and rubbed his face distraught. "Are you sure? For both the fight and telling anyone else?" I nodded and let go of my legs so they fell to the ground. "Okay, okay I'll talk to Mark for tonight and you need to tell me if you get anything else. And I mean that Faith. You come straight to me." Getting up I went to hug Stephanie and Marcus as a thank you. Marcus got up and dialed who I thought was Mark for the fight tonight. Stephanie and I started talking about what had happened and then Marcus came back, "Fight is on and we have a couple hours before we need to go. Good thing we have the extra outfit here right." We all laughed lightly and Stephanie said she was going to go make food. "We can go workout for a bit if you want?"
I nodded again and went to the guest room pulling out some basketball shorts and a sports bra to change into. Walking back out I saw Marcus talking to Stephanie and then moved to the door for us to take his car. When we got to the building we immediately went to the lockers to wrap our hands and grab our gloves. We decided to individually work out this time so I went to the bags and Marcus went to the speedbag. After about 2 hours of rotating and doing different things we called it and made our way back to Marcus's house. Getting there we were greeted with food that we ate quickly and then a quick shower ending with all of us on the couch watching whatever was on T.V. When the time came I went to change into my outfit and met Marcus in his car. Getting to the building with my mask, wraps, and contacts on we got out and got swarmed with men and women cheering for me until we got to the ring. My opponent was the same height as me but slimmer in muscle. I think I'll drag out tonight's fight. Marcus put in my mouth guard and made sure everything was okay. The ring announcer told us to meet in the middle to bump gloves and the rules. Moving back to our corners the round bell went off and we started to walk to each other. Hitting her with a right hook on her ribs unexpectedly she stumbled but quickly fixed herself. She threw a simple combination at me which I blocked with my gloves. Swinging my right leg around I moved and struck her with a left jab on her cheek. She shook her head and took a step forward before turning to look back at me. I could tell she was getting angry so she threw a 1, 5, 4 combo (left jab, left uppercut, right hook). The only hit she manged to get off was the right hook into my side. Not bad, not bad at all. The round bell rang saying round one was done. Going to my corner I sat down on the stool and Marcus bent down in front of me, "You're doing good but I can tell you aren't giving it your all. You're trying to make this last longer aren't you." I nodded and stood up waiting for the bell to ring for the 2nd round. When it did, the girl charged at me throwing the first punch which I dodged weaving under and stepping to the left. Throwing a left jab to her stomach I stepped back and around behind her. Enough I have to end it. When she turned to look at me I nailed under her jaw with a right uppercut making her head snap back and eyes roll to the back of her head. When she starts falling I caught her and laid her down. I walked to my corner until the ref called it and raised my arm in victory. "Alright let's get home." He took my mouth guard and we walked to Mark to get our money and leave. On the drive back I asked Marcus if I could crash for the night which he nodded and said I couldn't avoid everything forever. I didn't answer and went to the guest room to sleep.
