Chapter#23: At the Bar

*after 2 days*

I was sitting in the employee room of the bar with Zed and she was sharing something about her love life to which I wasn't paying any attention.
"...... Isn't that sweet?" She said.

I was lost in my own world of thoughts remembering the conversation I had with Tristan last night at dinner.
"Are you free this weekend?" He asked me.
"Yeah" I told him since I had off this weekend.
"OK, that's great. I'm taking you to my club party." He said taking a bite of sandwich. I looked up at him in surprise.
"But I'll be completing my assignments." I lied with as much honesty as I could.
"Oh! Come on nerd, do that the next day. I'll be needing your company for few hours." He said smiling.
His face looked angelic as he smiled.

"I'll be sleeping early at Saturday night in order to wake up early next day." I tried to come up with another excuse.
"Come on Hazel, that's not a good excuse to refuse me. Try a new one."
I knew he understood that I was simply finding ways to avoid the party.
"Oh-kay. I'll come." I said finally giving up. A wide smile spread across his face up to his ears. "That's like my good girl."
'His good girl?'

I came out of my trance when I saw Zed waving her hand in front of my eyes. "Where are you lost?"
"Um... Nowhere." I replied her.
'Should I tell her?'

"You look worried, need to share something?"
"Yeah kind of." I decided to share my thoughts since I didn't have Kara by my side this minute.

Zed stood from her stool and placed herself by my side. "Sure, speak up."
"I told you about my flatmate ..." I continued gathering words and assembling them to tell her each and every thing which happened between us.

"So that's a positive sign, honey." Zed commented.
"Sign of what?" I asked.
"He's simply trying to create a bond between you guys. A bond of trust and love."  I knew the hidden meaning of her words.

"But I don't want to step in this, Zed."
"Why?"
"These things are not made for my type of people."
"Hey listen. God has made love for each an every being. There is love between animals as well. How can you say that?"

Zed paused a little then said "Did you have any experience before."
I nodded in disapproval.
"Hmm... OK don't get into that matter but at least be friends with him. You need to come out of your daily working routine and discover new things, enjoy the colors of life."

"I'm quit nervous." I said fiddling with my fingers.
"Be bold, honey coz Zed is by your side. We'll go shopping after bar today and get you an aesthetic dress for the party." Zed patted my back trying to make me comfortable.
"Thank you so much, Zed. I feel better." I said hugging Zed.
"Anytime." She hugged back.

"Hey! If your girly gossips are over then help me at serving." Leo came from the counter and said which made both of us smile.
'This man is amazing'

I set the tray with glasses full of wine and whiskey and moved around the bar to serve it.
I saw some few faces. New customers stepped in the bar after a long time.
I was noticing new faces and most of them were unfamiliar but one face. One face looked familiar to my eyes.
'Shit. What is he doing here?'

It was Tristan.

I thought he didn't drink. I held a tray of glasses which was to be served on his table. As I stepped close to the table. Our eyes met. I lowered my gaze and kept moving closer and put the glasses on the table. I put one of the glasses of red wine in front of him.
I could feel his gaze on me but I ignored him. Heat flushed up my cheeks.
"Hey that's my wine. He doesn't drink." One of the men whined as I kept his glass in front of Tristan.

After serving the drinks I took big and fast steps back to the bar counter. As soon as I reached the counter I exhaled my breath which I realized I was holding since past few minutes.

I served drinks on other tables and I could feel Tristan staring at me. It wasn't making me uncomfortable rather it was forcing me to stare back which I don't want to.
I was feeling embarrassed, what would he think I was working at such a small bar.

My eyes kept searching for Zed. As soon as I spotted her I told her to get out of here. When she asked me the reason I told her that Tristan was here .
"Let me see him." She said excitingly.
"No, Zed. Let's leave." I said pulling her arm like a child.
"Come on show me and then we'll leave."
At last I told her where he was sitting at the table in the corner.
"The one in brown shirt?" Zed asked.
I nodded.
"Ohmigod!!! He is such a hottie. Look at his biceps. He's a man of good figure." Zed used to x-ray scan every guy like that even she had her own boyfriend. 
After a detailed examining both of get out of the bar for shopping. We told Leo to handle the customers with other workers.
'Poor Leo'

⚜Tristan⚜

I went to a bar with my club boys. We were sitting at a table talking about clients when I noticed a face. A tiny, beautiful, angelic face. She was Hazel coming towards us with a tray of drinks. We made an eye contact.
'She works here? Why didn't she tell me?'
She stopped near our table and served the drinks to us. She put a glass of red wine in front of me.
'Didn't she know I don't drink'
I kept staring her while she was doing her task. She was interrupted by Mark who complained that the wine was his. Then she stepped back smiled a little and headed towards the counter with huge steps. She was definitely avoiding me. I could see her panic at the counter as well. All the time my eyes were fixed at her.

"That girl was sexy." Mark said.
"Who?" I asked.
Mark spoke after a taking a sip of wine "the one who served us drinks. I mean look at her ass and the way she moved __"
I cut him off "Don't you dare speak like that about her."

"Hey bro. Relax! What happened?"
"He's in love with the girl." Jordan spoke up.
"I'm not. She's just a friend of mine." I tried defending myself.
"When have you started being friends with girls?" Mark asked.
"After she stepped in his life." Jordan said and laughed.
I narrowed my eyes at him giving him a death glare.
"I was just joking." Jordan stopped laughing.
"That wasn't funny." I said.
