One morning, Izarra Monte was running so fast to her clasrrom without looking on her way. She was glancing at her wrist watch when she accidentally bumped into someone.
Her Philosophy book fell onto the floor so, she had to pick it up.
❝Oh I am very sorry! I am in a hurry!❞ She apologized and looked up to the man standing before her only to be surprised. It was Brian Lahar from the other section and the man whom she loved secretly.
❝I should be the one to apologize. I should have looked on my way to see you coming.❞
Brian replied but Izarra was merely staring at him.
❝Hey, miss! Is there a dirt all over my face?❞ Brian curiously asked while wiping his face with a handkerchief.
❝Ahmm no! ❞ Izarra almost yelled in embarrassment and slipped into her classroom.
Brian just smiled.The first time he laid his eyes on her, he felt something special. He as well loved Izarra Monte, but he was too coward to confess his feelings to her. He was undeniably scared to be rejected by her.
❝Hey, Brian! What's with that smile of yours? Seems like you're in love with someone huh❞. Jessica, his classmate and Izarra's best friend teased him.
❝ Huh? What are you saying? I'm just so happy to see a penguin before me.❞ Jessica pouted her lips. She knew that Brian was referring to her.
❝I have seen what happened earlier in the corridor, moron! You bumped into my best friend and smiled like an idiot right after she ran away haha!❞ Brian's forehead creased.
❝If I were you, I would confess my feelings to her before regret eats me up. She's into you, Brian.❞ Jessica said sternly and went back to her seat. He was left confused.
The next day, Brian went to Izarra's classroom. He finally made up his mind. He would confess his feelings to Izarra Monte.
❝Izarra! Brian is looking for you ayeee!❞ Lessa teased Izarra. Izarra's heart beat was no longer normal. She was sweating though the weather was cold. She felt jittery and so as Brian, but she still managed to face him.
❝Ahmm Izarra, can we talk privately?❞ Izarra was wondering what they were going to talk about. Whether about the last time she bumped into him or what? She knew It was just an accident.
❝Y-yes, of c-course❞. She answered, stuttering and could not look into Brian's eyes. They went to the garden where red roses bloomed.
Izarra was in ecstasy the moment she knew that Brian felt the same toward her. Brian kept on courting her —bringing her favorite chocolates, foods and roses. After two months of courtship, they became together. They spent time watching various movies, and travelling to distant places.
Izarra thought that Brian was the right one for her, but she was absolutely wrong. Brian broke up with her on their first anniversary. She did not know the reason behind their break up. She never thought that Brian could put thorns in her heart which made her in pain.
After eight months, Izarra finally moved on from the heartbreak that Brian had caused her and accepted the fact that they are not really destined for each other.
They have met each other again in a concert where they are both performers. Izarra managed to perform without any sign of uneasiness as though the man who broke her heart were not standing next to her.
❝I wish we could go back to the time when you were still mine, Izarra. Wish I did not replace you with the one I have just met, the one I had a one night stand with. I blame myself for choosing the fleeting happiness over you. I wish I could call you 'mine' once again.❞
