JUNGKOOK POV

The door swings open revealing Hoseok and Yoongi. They let themselves in, setting a bag of chips down and plomping onto the couch. "Hoseok-hyung, you brought the new game over?" I shout from the kitchen, grabbing the cider cans from the fridge.

"When you recoil the whole controller vibrates dude, you will shit your pants," he breathes out, getting excited and laughing out his sentence.

I smile excitedly, sitting myself down beside them. We spawn at the battlefield and I immediately go hunting.

"So, what's up with you and that girl I always see?" He distractedly makes conversation.

"W-who?"

I gun down a few players in the way, returning to the flag. "You know, Kang."

"Oh. Yeah I threw dog shit at her window."

Hoseok snorts on his cider drink, breaking into contagious laughter.

I start laughing too, passing him the controller. I look out the living room window and see her at her now-clean room window studying. I turn my attention back to the screen and watch as they play against each other, Yoongi-hyung shouting profanities all the way.

The door opens drawing me away from the two older males. "Hey, mom..."

"Don't hey me. Did you throw dog shit at the poor girl's window?" She snaps, putting her office bag down. Hoseok and Yoongi stifle their laughter.

My face flushes in embarrassment, glaring at the uninvited guests. "Mom, it was her dog's shit. I was just returning it to her," I roll my eyes.

"Jeon Jungkook don't roll your eyes at me! Go apologise to her for what you did."

"What? But mom—"

"Invite her over while you're at it."

"What now?"

"Yes now, unless you want your ass kicked in front of your friends."

I sigh exasperated, dragging my feet out the door. Reluctantly I knock a few times, hopefully soft enough she won't hear then at least I can say I tried.

The door swings open while I'm trying to make my escape, much to no avail. She taps her foot impatiently, flashing her bitchy face. A growl can be heard coming from inside.

"Look, I just want to say sorry..." I mumble the last part, rubbing the back of my neck.

"What did you say?" She raises her eyebrows smirking at me now. Fucking devil reincarnate.

"I said I'm sorry... about this morning," I grit my teeth.

She looks back into the house. "It's okay, Kimchi. You can stand down," I hear her say.

I gulp down hard. I've always loved big dogs, but Kimchi was like the spitting image of Kang Byeol herself.

"My mom asked you to come over but only if you want to don't worry I'll let her know you don't bye!" I hurriedly rush off.

"Wait! What if I fucking want to, Jeon," she glares at me, crossing her arms now.

"Fine. But I have friends over, don't disturb us."

She scoffs closing the door to her house and walking over. "Right, like you have friends."

I laugh, looking back at her house. Kimchi sits at the living room porch, staring out longingly. Not gonna lie it looks pretty lonely inside sometimes.

I open the door for myself, trying to shut her out before my mom notices. "Oh, sweetie! Glad you could join," mom greets her unfortunately.

I see her eyes dart to the couch, surprised I really do have friends over. "Yeah, I couldn't leave you alone with that thing," she smiles sickly, looking at me in disgust.

I roll my eyes and go back to the couch. "Hey, Kang! Come sit with us," Hoseok offers.

I give him a look asking him to shut up but she strides over before he can see it.

"Hey sorry, I didn't know Jeon had any friends," she says. Yoongi starts laughing. "Yeah, we like to think of him more as a host for us to play games and drink. Thanks, Kook!" he flashes his gummy smile at me.

"Don't forget this is my house, I can kick you out," I growl at my ungrateful friends.

"No you won't," my mother retorts from the kitchen. The three snicker and high-five each other, eyes glued to the screen.

After another hour of good fun, I realised Kang's pretty good at warfare games managing to gun me down a couple of times. Impressive, but I'm still king of this game.

"It's almost dinner time. Are you guys staying?" My mom asks, preparing to make dinner already.

Hoseok and Yoongi-hyung explain in an overlapping mess how they have dinner at home waiting, while Kang simply nods her head. A knock to the door startles me, not expecting anyone else. She walks over instead, opening the door to greet the mailman.

"Ah, I knew you were here when there was no answer," he says cheerfully.

She giggles, taking her mail from him. "Thanks, Jiseung. You know me so well," she waves him off. Hyungs take the door opening as cue to leave as well, bidding goodbye to us.

She comes over quite a bit, mostly because my mom adores her here since she helps out when I'm too lazy to. Since then the mailman started realising her habit of being here instead of her empty house by herself.

She opens her mail and immediately squeals of excitement fill the room. I cover my ears, finding the high-pitch noise almost deafening. However curiosity gets the better of me and I snatch the letter from her hand holding it up so she can't reach it.

"Give it back, Jeon!" She growls, jumping up at my stretched arm.

"Dear Ms Kang," I begin reading out loud, grin on my face as I watch her struggle. "Come on!" she shouts, trying to grow taller on the spot.

"We are pleased to inform you that your application for tour guide in Yedae Art Exhibition has been... accepted," I breathe out, lowering my hand slowly.

She got a job there?

She snatches it away, trying to give me her most intimidating gaze. "What the hell, Jeon? A-Class assholery," she huffs.

"King asshole," I say, making the both of us chuckle. The next words that leave my mouth leave the room dumbfounded as well.

"I'm applying too."
