KANG BYEOL POV
"Sorry, Jeon?"
"Well if you can get the job, why can't I?" He pokes the inside of his cheek.
I scoff. This fucking asshole. "Because this," I make hand gestures at the space between us, "Is my opportunity to get away from your annoying ass."
"Give me one good reason why I can't score the job at Yedae," he challenges. His arms are now crossed over his chest, taking a step closer to me.
"Because... they don't just let anyone in. You have to be of a certain background," I make up an excuse.
He cocks his eyebrow at me, taking out his phone. "It literally says 'walk-in interview' on their website," he smiles knowingly, shoving the evidence in my face.
"Ahjumma! Say something," I beg her, stomping in my place.
She looks me dead in the eye. "You know your famous starry-eyes don't work on me anymore sweetie," she tells me sternly. "Go for the interview, Jungkook."
My jaw slacks in disbelief, ignoring the jumping male beside me. "Come on, Ahjumma! You're supposed to be my right hand."
"I am, honey, but he's still my son. And I want you guys to work together. It can't always be dog shit wars, you know. And Jungkook you need to start pulling your weight around here," she sighs.
I sit down in defeat, picking up my chopsticks. "Just don't bother me on the job or you'll really regret it." I give him the side-eye. His famous bunny smile spreads across his face, victory radiating off him.

"This is the end of the Mitsuhiko exhibition. You may proceed to the upper floors for the war exhibit," I smile at the couple, bowing respectfully as they walked away.
This is so exciting! It's been a couple of days since I started my job and I'm doing all I can to enjoy being alone before the king takes it away from me.
But as I walk back to the main entrance the staff door opens, revealing a smiling Jungkook along with one of the board directors. The two seem to be laughing heartily, making me curious.
He spots me, waving me over. Putting on the nicest smile I can muster, I greet them politely. "Good afternoon, sir. Would you like me to escort this one out?"
He smiles and shakes his head. "Actually this is our newest staff member. Please treat him well and inform him what to do," he waves his hand commanding me. "I wish you all the best, Jungkook. You are so funny," he laughs.
WHAT.
I look at Jungkook suspiciously, finding his annoying smirk face staring back at me. "Of course, sir. Follow me," I grit my teeth.
As I'm walking to the staff lockers I get upset. Why was he accepted so easily? Why did I have to wait to be accepted for so long? And who the fuck even sends acceptance through snail mail anymore?
"What's with that face?" Jungkook's voice suddenly interrupts my train of thought.
I blink up at him. "What face?"
"You looked like you were mad, then you looked like you were gonna cry now your nose is all scrunched up. Is it that time of the month?" He looks amused.
Ugh! I take out his uniform from the cupboard and throw it at him. "Go put those on and put your stuff in that locker," I huff angrily.
He rolls his eyes leaving to do so and I immediately feel bad. Maybe I shouldn't have been so harsh. I sit on the bench, fumbling with the earpiece and tablet.
As soon as he comes out I stand up abruptly, almost losing my balance. I swallow thickly, seeing him in the all-black uniform. Okay, he kinda looks good tho...
I shake my head furiously erasing my last thought. "U-um, you need to have these on you at a-all times," I stutter, passing him the stuff without looking his way. He eyes me suspiciously but takes the items from my hand anyway.
"Wow, I kinda look like a badass spy with these," he muses. I see him putting on the spiral earpiece like an excited kid, holding the tablet and playing around with it. I find the corners of my lips tugged upwards at his behaviour.
"Don't play with that!" I laugh. "Here, there's no password so you have to really take care of it..."
I move closer to him explaining what he needs to do, holding the tablet with him and pressing on the different functions. After I'm finished explaining I look up for confirmation, only finding him look away sheepishly and a red tint spreading on his cheeks.
"Hey, were you even listening to anything I said?" I get annoyed, thinking he just wasted my precious time.
He rests his weight on one leg and looks at me like I'm dumb. "Yeah, you know... beep boop," he points randomly at the different icons on the screen. I sigh, getting ready to leave the locker room.
"If anything I'll find a way to manage. Don't forget I'm the king at everything so don't worry, Kang," he smiles smugly, pointing to himself.
"Like I was ever worried about you, Jeon," I mutter under my breath.
