(I actually haven't read over this since I wrote all of it was quite a awhile ago, so I am so sorry for any mistakes/very confusing parts.)
Luke's POV
"What's up with the two of you?" I asked Ricky and Jack, my voice groggy from just waking up from my beauty sleep. Jack was sitting on the couch, staring in front of himself with disbelief spread across his face. Ricky was sitting with his legs crossed and was smiling at his phone every once and awhile after it beeped. I got no reply, so I shrugged and walked over to our coffee maker.
"Can you believe Ali?" Jack asked Ricky as I poured myself a cup of coffee. I made sure to listen into the conversation, wanting to know what all happened.
"Yeah, I can." Ricky replied and I rolled my eyes.
"You're a great help." Jack said and huffed.
"Well, you did help her cheat on Niall Horan. I'm still getting over that, my friend." I sighed and looked back over at the two of them.
"What? I don't get to know the latest gossip?" I asked, rolling my eyes.
"No, you don't." Jack said, closing his eyes as if my voice was too much for him to bare.
"Alright, then. I'll get out of your hair." I said and stood up. I walked over to my dresser and quickly changed into clean clothes. I brushed my hair out with my fingers. I grabbed my phone off my bed and made my hair look a little shaggy, not caring too much what I looked like. I walked out of the room, not bothering to say goodbye to either of the guys. I made my way down the hallway and before I could even get out of the dorm building, I bumped into the certain someone I was on my way to see. "Hey, you." I smiled at Kylie and she sighed, not making eye contact with me.
"Hi..."
"Everything okay?" I asked her, concerned.
"I came over to talk to you... I've just been thinking and I feel awful."
"Kylie, why would you feel awful?" I asked her.
"Luke... this is getting too serious for me. I love sneaking around like we're a complete secret, but I don't do commitment. I mean, don't get me wrong, Luke, I love hanging out with you. You're the sweetest guy I've ever met. I just don't want to hurt you, because if I did, I couldn't live with myself for doing so. My last relationship ended completely by surprise and I just don't feel comfortable being really committed to a relationship this quickly after something like my last break up." I stared at Kylie and nodded after processing her words.
"Y-yeah... okay."
"I'm really sorry, Luke." she said, planting a kiss on my cheek. "I'm hoping we can still be friends... I just can't do this."
"That's okay, yeah, that's fine." I told her. I wanted to beg her to stay, but only because I realized how much I actually liked her in this very moment.
"I'm so sorry." she said and sighed.
"It's okay, really." I assured her and took both her hands in mine. I kissed forehead and smiled at her. "I'm glad this ended before either of us got hurt."
"Yeah..." she agreed and I sighed.
"Well, I should probably be heading back to the room." She nodded and sent me a faint smile. I smiled at her, but the smile didn't stay long. "Uh, see you around, Kylie." She waved as I let go of her hands and walked away from her.
Welcome to the single club, Luke.
