Ali's POV

"Hello?"

"Hey, it's me. So, I was wondering, how about we go out tonight?" I asked Jack over the phone.

"We could." he said and I sighed at his answer.

"Do you have better plans?" I asked him.

"I didn't say that." he said. I sat down on the couch and turned the TV on.

"Have you seen Lauren?" I asked him.

"Yeah... she was over here a little while ago looking for Ricky." he said and I nodded. "Do you know what's going on?"

"Kind of." I said and flipped through the channels. "She really likes Ricky."

"Yeah... when did that happen?" he asked me.

"When your best friend, Ricky, decided to suck my best friend, Lauren's, face off." I said and decided to watch 'Project Runway'.

"Hey, that wasn't completely his fault." Jack said and I rolled my eyes. "Lauren kissed him back."

"Because Lauren thought they were practicing!"

"At first. She had to realize that they weren't actually practicing at some point."

"It was Ricky's fault. I'm not blaming him because I don't like him, I'm blaming him because he's the one to blame." I said and Jack sighed.

"Well, Ricky is a nice guy when you actually talk to him. I've known him forever."

"And I've known Lauren forever." I said. "You don't hate Lauren, but I hate Ricky."

"Yeah, but I was friends with Lauren before I even thought about dating a brunette, let alone you."

"What does you not having a thing for brunettes have to do with any of this?" I asked him.

"I'm just making sure you realize you're the only brunette I will ever love." he said and I rolled my eyes.

"What was so bad about brunettes?" I asked him.

"I don't know." he said.

"You dated a girl with pink hair in highschool."

"It was my freshman year of college, and she had purple highlights."

"Eh, whatever."

"That's a big difference, Ali."

"It's not that big of a difference. Purple is just like pink! It's all girly and whatnot."

"Well to Sandra, my freshman year girlfriend, pink was disgusting, but purple made people goth." Jack said and I laughed.

"Why did you even date her?" I asked him.

"When we started dating, she was a redhead who loved girly things. But then too months into the relationship, she cut her hair, dyed it black, streaked it with purple, and then tried to do a seance on my dead cat..."

"Sandra sounds like a lovely woman..." I said and Jack laughed. "Aren't seance's strictly for humans, though?"

"How would I know? Right after she started meowing like a dying cat, I ran from her dorm and you better believe I never looked back." he said and I started to laugh hysterically. "Ali, breathe." I coughed and calmed down.

"Does she still live on campus?" I asked.

"She might, I never see her around." he said and then he got really quiet.

"Jack?" I asked and he gasped.

"She still lives on campus! Repeat, she still lives on campus!" I heard my room door open and I groaned. "Lauren's ba-"
