Chapter Thirty-One

Ali's POV

"So... how was your day?" I asked Luke and he rolled his eyes.

"Lonely." he said and Briley glared at him. He looked at her. "Except when I was with Briley for like five seconds, I guess."

"You guess?" Briley asked and I stared at the two of them.

"Yeah, I guess."

"I was with you more than five seconds. I was with you long enough to almost get us lost!" she said and Luke rolled his eyes.

"I knew where I was the entire time. You need chill out." he said.

"Me chill out?! Don't tell me to-"

"Okay, what the hell is going on?" I asked and Briley looked at me.

"Nothing." she said and crossed her arms. "I just kind of hate all of your friends."

"What did I ever do?" Ricky and Jack asked at the same time.

"You can hate Ricky and Luke, but Jack is cool." I said and Briley rolled her eyes. She stood up and walked to Jack.

"Have you ever seen Mean Girls?" Briley asked him and he nodded slowly.

"Yeah, I mean, it's Ali's favo-"

"Well, take some similar advice. If Ali gets pregnant, you will die. Most likely if you get any girl pregnant she will die." she said and I stood up.

"Briley, would you stop?" I asked, annoyed.

"Just saying."

"Well, I mean, Noah isn't dying." Jack said and I sighed. Briley clenched her jaw and balled her fist.

"Jack, really? That's not okay." Lauren said.

"Wait, what?" Luke asked, completely confused. Briley rolled her eyes and walked back to the couch.

"It doesn't matter." Briley said and looked down at her phone.

"You don't need to be so rude." I whispered to Briley and she looked at me.

"Me?" she asked and I rolled my eyes. "Tell your boyfriend that." Someone's phone started ringing, and everyone started looking for their phones. Lauren got hers out of her purse and quickly answered it.

"Hello?" she answered. "Louis..." she said into the phone with a sigh. She looked up at Ricky and quickly left the room. We all looked at Ricky and he started walking out of the room, too.

"What just happened?" Briley asked and I shrugged.

"Lauren is probably going to go make up with Louis and Ricky is going to try to stop that from happening." Luke said and I nodded, agreeing with him.

"Well... I'm going to go find Quinn..." Briley said and stood up.

"Wait, Briley, how did you get here?" I asked her and she looked at me.

"Uh... Quinn? Yeah! Quinn came and got me." she said and I stood up.

"Oh, alright." I said, knowing she was lying. I walked her to the door and then grabbed her arm.

"What?!"

"How did you actually manage to get two hours away from home?" I asked her and she sighed.

"Noah..." she said.

"Well, where is he?"

"We broke up..."

"I don't understand."

"We got into a fight in his car and he kind of just left me on a curb..." Briley said and sighed.
