Dalton's pov

Dalton I know this is not the way to inform you about such a serious matter but I had to.

Mom's in the hospital. She had a stroke last night.

I read the message again and again not getting myself to believe it. My whole body felt numb and cold.

Unknowingly tears started to fall down my cheeks as I stared blankly at the screen.

The door to the bathroom opened and Ariana came out while drying her hair with a towel.

" Hey dalton can you... Wait what's wrong? ", she asked sitting down beside me on the bed.

" It's nothing. ", I said but my voice cracked making it even obvious I wasn't ok.

" I'm not stupid.. I can tell something is wrong. ", she said as she placed her hands on top of mine.

The sudden touch made me look up at her as her eyes softened once she saw my face.

" Dalton.. Are you..crying? ", she said lifting my face up to her by my chin.

I shook my head and looked to the other side as more tears fell.

" What's wrong baby.. Tell me. I can help. "

" No you can't. You fucking can't help me at all. ", I snapped at her as she gasped at my certain rude attitude.

I took her hands off mine and threw it back towards her making her flinch. I was too upset to care about anything else right now. The fact that my mom is in the hospital and I can't even be there for her was killing me right now.

" Dalton.. ", she said sounding hurt.

I sprang up from the bed and left her room , making my way towards mine.

" I was just trying to help you. You don't need to act so rude. ", I could hear her yell from her room but I didn't care at the moment.

Immediately after arriving at my room I called Dakota.

He picked up after a few rings.

" Dakota what's going on? Why didn't you tell me earlier? How is mom? Please tell me. ", I said choking on my own words.

" Dalton please calm down. I couldn't tell you because it was late and taking mom to the hospital was more important than calling you. ", Dakota said sighing.

" How is she? ", I asked after regaining a steady breath.

" I'm not gonna lie Dalton... She's not in a good condition. "

That's exactly what I needed to hear to break down even more. My mom was everything to me. I can't loose her.

" Dakota can't I somehow come and visit? Is there any chance? ", I asked desperate to see her at least once.

" Dalton.. I know you want to but it's not possible. ", he sighed as I sniffed.

" Please Dalton. I know it's hard for you.. It's hard for our entire family... But we can't loose hope. Mom is a strong woman. She'll get through this. "

" Hm "

" Look right now the doctors are trying to stabilise her and I promise I'll let you know what happens. It's gonna be alright lil bro. I know. ", he said trying to calm me down but it didn't help. All kinds of negative thoughts kept coming my way which I couldn't help but overthink about.

I knew I wasn't the only one who was going through this so I tried to stay strong for my family.

" How is tori and dad? ", I asked wiping my tears.
