Breathless (Kirishima x Midoriya)

Part 18

Midoriya's PoV

The night of the party, 7 pm

The room falls silent and all the students turn to face the stage where Mic is. The dance is officially kicking off, I'm so excited.

''Welcome to UA's first official dance of the year. I'd like to kick it off first by saying how amazed we all are with your progress. You all have so much potential and you continue to amaze us everyday, even with all the traumatizing villain attacks we've endured this year. Keep on going students because one day, you'll be up top where you all deserve to be!!'' Present Mic cheers. 

When he finishes, the whole room cheers with him before he starts up the music. Just 5 hours until my world comes crashing down. But I had no idea until it was already too late.

''Yeah, my moms shaken up still but we visited yesterday again and she isn't shaking with fear anymore.''

''Oh, so Ryo's staying there now?'' Kachan asks and I nod.

''You can come with us next week though.'' I smile and Ei nods. ''And we could visit your parents while we're at it.'' I add.

''Sure, I guess that'd be fun.'' he sighs and Ei chuckles.

We head downstairs for dinner which Satou and a few others so graciously prepared for the rest of the class. We sit at the huge dinner table, eating and cracking jokes to the class.

''So, Iida, I was wondering if I could wear a dress.'' Kami asks, deadpan, and Todoroki perks up slightly, seemingly interested in the answer.

''If that makes you feel more comfortable then of course you can but as I've told the girls, please wear shorts underneath in case something happens, to us or the dress you're wearing. I will also be bringing some spare clothes as I believe I failed to mention.'' Iida says and Todoroki looks excited.

''I'd be happy to custom make a dress for you Kami but I do want to ask, is this just a random question or is this something about your gender identity and how you identify? I'd hate it if we were using the wrong pronouns.'' Yaoyorozu joins in and Todoroki slumps slightly but is still paying attention as are the rest of the class.

''I'm not quite sure, I just felt like wearing a dress but I think there's someone else in class who also wanted to know so I figured I'd ask while we were all together.'' Kaminari says and I know immediately who he means.

I lean over to Eijiro and Kachan and whisper, ''Who else say how Todoroki-kun reacted? You think it's him?'' to which Kachan nods slightly.

''I dunno...'' Eiji says calmly before he whispers to us. ''You think I should tell them now while we're on the topic of the dance and stuff?'' to which Kachan nods.

I put a hand on Eijiro's thigh, under the table so no one sees, and say ''It's up to you.''

Then Eijiro grabs my hand, laces our fingers together and brings our hand to the table top. I smile at him and he smiles back but I can tell instantly that he's nervous. He mustn't have a great past with coming out I guess. Mina was first to notice and she smiled at us but didn't make a big deal because she already knew we were together. Then Uraraka and Tsu noticed and pointed it out to everyone.

''AWEEE!! You guys, that's adorable!'' Uraraka shouts in 'awe' and pointing at us. The class joins in on the 'awe's and 'oooh's and Eijiro starts blushing madly in embarrassment.

''Guys! Leave him alone.'' I say with a smile and they stop but smile.

''So you guys are dating?'' Todoroki asks and we nod.

''Ei wanted to keep it a secret until he had the confidence to come out.'' I smile. ''But now that you know, I finally get to ask if you'll come to the dance with me.''

''Of course I will Izu.'' he smiles before his grip on my hand tightens slightly before letting go and slipping his hand back under the table. He put his hand on my thigh and at first, I flinched slightly, thinking he was going to try to touch me but instead, he moved his hand on his knee before moving his hand and pulling out his phone.

He types something on his phone before showing it to me. He's messaging Todoroki. I nod and he presses send. Todoroki looks up with a slight smile, only noticeable to us two.

Kirishima - You seemed excited when Kami brought up the dresses to the dance and if you want to wear one but don't wanna look weird or be the only one, I'd wear one and so would Mido, if you want to, but no pressure

Todoroki - That means a lot but can we talk about this properly and in private?

Eijiro looks over and nods before Todoroki and Iida start a conversation with Momo and Jirou. Jirou almost looks jealous when Momo and Iida talk but she's got this whole thing wrong because Momo likes her back. I also ship Iida and Todoroki but no one knows Iida's sexuality and Todoroki's first time expressing emotions was highkey, 2 minutes ago.
