5. Seven

There were two things on my mind right now; Mono, and my parents. Just realizing how late it was, and the fact that this boy I just met is moving in next to me. "Are you surprised to see me." He said while smiling. My facial expression was saying a lot I could tell. "Y-Yeah! Wow I, had no idea you were the one moving in here." I said while I looked at the house. I already knew this guy had followed me home. It's understandable since he had to walk the same way since we're apparently neighbors now. I took another glance at the house. I was able to see some boxes and other junk on the outside from a distance. I saw a moving truck and a grey car next to it which I was assuming was the one his parents owned. "So, you live close?" He asked me interrupting my irrelevant thoughts. I scoffed a bit at his question then responded, "Yeah I- actually live right next to you." I said pointing my house I got tired if looking at for four years. "Woah no shit! We're neighbors?! We might be going to the same school that means. We can probably hang out and stuff, If you want." He said with a soft smirk while rubbing the back of his neck. My face reddened at his sentence. No ones ever been this excited to hang out with me before that's not one of my best friends. Let alone live next to me. He had a monotone voice that got a little higher when he was excited. Similar to the way I spoke. I smiled at him. "Yeah, that sounds cool. I'm down." I said. "Awesome! Well, my parents are still up moving things around and getting situated. They like to get things done fast. You can come check it out tomorrow if you want." He said while walking back to his house. " Sure that sounds cool, see you tomorrow Mono!" I said while starting to walk back to my own home. "See ya!" I heard him say as he disappeared behind the door of his new house. I sighed with a small smile feeling the warmth of the happiness that came with making a new friend. I got out my key from my pocket and twisted and turned the already rusted doorknob and pushed it open. My happiness faded within seconds of recognizing the presence that was at the kitchen counter shuffling through bills and old pictures, along with torn up mail. My breathing was sped up slowly and my heart raced.

"So... I guess someone's finally home. Did you have fun on your little trip..."
