I look into the mirror in Laurie's bathroom. She gave me a scrunchie to put my hair in a high ponytail, as well as some makeup. I actually like the way the makeup turned out. She told me, and I quote, "It's summer, and you look so weird with that snowflake necklace, but you can just take it off and put this one on. Luckily for you I have that one and you have decent earrings so we'll leave those." I haven't taken this necklace off since I was twelve.
I stare at myself in the mirror as I reach up, unhook the clasp, and pull the snowflake away from my chest. I quickly put on the three in one necklace thing she gave me with my clothes and scurry out of the bathroom to see her fully dressed and ready. I can hear loud music and yelling from downstairs now.
