Chapter 3: New Best Friend

Rory POV

Mia takes my hand and we head toward what looks to be an elevator. She tells me everyone will probably be up there.

"So who exactly is here?"

"Would you know who they are if I said the peoples' names?"

"I- yeah no I wouldn't," I look down at the ground, not knowing what else to say.

"No, Rory, you're fine. It's kind of nice to be honest. Usually people are either famous and want to act better than everyone else when they're here, or they're freaking out because of who everyone is. You seem super sweet."

"Thanks Mia" I smile at her, "So you're dating Thomas right?"

"Yeah I am, he's great"

"He seemed nice, just a little intimidating to be honest, but everyone intimidates me to be fair" I laugh awkwardly slightly at the end and she just smiles at me.

"Yeah he can be, but he's actually super nice. He's great to everyone here. And to me," She blushes lightly before continuing, "So you're dating Bryce?" That's when the elevator opens and as I go to answer, we see Bryce at a portable DJ table thing, yelling about his diss track and that kid Chase, who is standing in front of Bryce laughing.

As Bryce finishes yelling, the song starts and almost everyone on the roof cheers and the music goes up really loud. I just stand outside the elevator, my eyes open wide, before rolling them. Bryce acts like an idiot all the time, but like... a little much?

Mia turns to me, "You're actually dating him?" I just nod, watching my boyfriend sprint around the pool to grab a white claw from... was it Ryland? The boy Josh introduced me to, the one with the curlier hair of the two. I don't know. I was almost concerned he wouldn't want to have fun, with me around. But Bryce is right here, shotgunning that White Claw. I guess at least he's not holding back.

"You're so quiet though and he's... doing that,"

"Yeah, he's not always like this..." Thats when Bryce sees me, and his eyes light up. I smile and he runs over to me, having to go through a few people.

"Baby you look amazing!" He lifts me at my waist, spinning me in the air. I giggle lightly as he sets me down, his arm immediately going around my waist. He turns to Mia, smiling, before saying, "Thanks for helping Ro out," her face looks completely taken aback before she responds, saying,

"Oh um yeah! Absolutely, it's no problem. I didn't even know you were dating anyone but I like this one. We all just heard there was a girl but no one knew what that meant, because... well yeah,"

"That's fair honestly" Bryce says, making them both laugh. I just look between them, confused. Am I missing something?

Before I can say anything, Blake, Thomas, a blonde guy, and a gorgeous girl with long wavy brown hair run up, both Thomas and the blonde one carrying cameras.

"Bryce Hall: Simp... I can see the views now" the blonde one says laughing, waving a hand through the air. Thomas laughs as well, both of them pointing their cameras at me.

"Sooooo, what's your name?" The blonde one asks. Before I can answer Mia pushes Bryce out of the way, wrapping an arm around me. I look up at her slightly as she speaks, realizing that she's about 4 inches taller than me. Huh... she must just look short next to Thomas.

"Her name is Rory and she's mine and Kouvr's new best friend. C'mon Kouvr" she walks away, and the brunette follows us, walking on my other side. I glance over my shoulder, seeing Bryce laughing, talking to the boys, their cameras still out.
