I live in a world where from the age of 16, you're able to find out who your soulmate is by making decisions for them. They could be nice or mean, some less obvious than the other.

I always grew up thinking my soulmate would be a nerd like me, quiet and nonchalant but instead, I got the complete opposite. I got the most popular guy in school who is neither quiet or nonchalant. For two years he hasn't been able to find me because I've been able to do the decisions he's given me on the down-low.

But one day he had given me a decision that I couldn't do on the down low.

It was lunchtime and I sat at my usual table with my friends and their soulmates. They don't know who my soulmate is. It's too embarrassing to tell them.

And then the unexpected happened.

"Can I have your attention, please?" A voice rings throughout the cafeteria as everyone's attention is set on the centre stage. Finn Wolfhard with a microphone to his mouth, walking around and looking at everyone, as far as his eye could see.

Girls with soulmates swoon over him, guys with soulmates wish they were him.

"For two years I still have not been able to find my soulmate. So today, I wanna finally meet her."

My eyes widened slightly. No, not here. Not now. Not in front of everyone. Please.

"So, to my soulmate. I want you to come up and kiss me as my decision you cannot decline."

Dammit. You get one chance in a lifetime to make a decision your soulmate cannot refuse.

It has been proven not doing a decision leaves your soulmate in a really bad state, they could be sent to hospital or even worse ... death.

As much as I didn't want to do it, the amount of girls who would come after me would be crazy and I don't have time for that. He looked around the cafeteria for his soulmate and all the girls were curious too. I bite on my lip and stand up, making my way towards him.

Almost instantly, everyone's eyes turned to me but my attention was set on one person on the stage who was looking around the cafeteria, turning around on the spot. Our eyes met once his body had turned to me. My heart rattling against my ribcage, my fingers riddling against each other, blood rushing to my cheeks.

He turns his head to the side, almost as if he was in disbelief but there was a slight relief in his expression too. He popped the microphone back into stand and walked down the steps and down the aisle towards me a slight smile forming on his face as I couldn't help but do the same.

But just as were about to meet, I am stopped in my tracks by someone cutting me off. Their long chocolate waterfall of hair slapping in the face and instead of standing in the middle of the cafeteria awkwardly, I quickly did a swerve and walking to in a totally different direction to make it seem as if my initial thought was something different from meeting my soulmate.

"It's me Finn, your soulmate," I heard behind me from a high pitched voice. One that I was very familiar with, my very own twin. My complete opposite. Prettier, more popular. Everything I'm not.
