By the end of the fifth period, it began pouring outside, causing floods of students to scramble under the school's roofs. Nearing his last class, Seokjin went to his fairly open-spaced classroom to attend his language arts class. He was truly alone this time, with no friends of either grade to accompany him. Wiping his shoes on the class' rug, he sat down and waited for class to begin. Even while the rest of the class already arrived, the teacher was yet to arrive. The class talked in hushed rumors while the feeling of brief loneliness dawned upon him. By fifteen minutes, the class would legally be allowed to head home early. Checking his watch in repeated intervals, Seokjin fought off the need to nod off. His clock nearing the third hand, he looked over the door. With some miraculous timing, someone actually appeared. Hair soaked yet still fluffy, Hoseok ran through the door and bowed to the class.
"Sorry for the delay everyone! Your teacher left without notifying the staff, so please don't blame the office for this."
Drying off his hair with his sweater, he swiftly opened up his laptop and connected it to the projector.
"Screening a movie will lift the gloomy mood, don't you think?"
Charmed by his presence, the students awaited the film's start with anticipation. Hoseok looked over the classroom and found Seokjin's to be one of the few tables without a partner. Without consideration of the other girls' attempts to have the substitute sit next to them, he ushered over to his side after flicking off the lights.
"I'm a bit wet, but do you mind if I sit here?"
Bewitched under the same spell like everyone else, Seokjin quickly moved aside for Hoseok to join him as the movie began.
As Disney's opening credits rolled, comfortable chatter surrounded the room. Seokjin looked over to Hoseok and handed over a towel from his backpack.
"I figured you might need this."
Hoseok's sunshine smile hit him again, this time with a gentle hint of warmth.
"I'm surprised students just have these around. Thank you!"
Hoseok began to pat off his clothing and noticing Seokjin's eyes darting quickly to the screen.
"You know, you don't need to feel embarrassed. Just because I'm a substitute teacher, doesn't mean we can't be friendly towards each other!"
Under the dark ambiance that often seemed nothing but cold and desolate, Hoseok seemed to have made even sceneries like this comforting.
"Ah. Of course! I'm Seokjin.. again."
Hoseok handed back his towel with a soft touch.
"You can call me Hobi. My friends say it's cute enough to be my greeting nickname."
Seokjin gave an awkward smile.
"What other types of nicknames would there be?"
Hoseok smirked.
"It'd sound better in your dreams."
Even in the pitch-black scenery, Hoseok could still notice Seokjin's flustered expression.
In the midst of the action-packed scenes Disney was best known for offering, Hoseok and Seokjin still continued to talk, sometimes even overlapping the movie's dialogue. It all flowed so easily, Hoseok's approachable nature catching Seokjin off at first. He never felt uncomfortable even with the slight age gap. With Hoseok's reliability and genuine care that could be felt through universes, there was nothing to be even slightly worried about. With the way he talked, he spoke as if they've been friends for years. His personality closed any of the gaps that could've reasonably separated Seokjin from getting attached to him. The room was so much brighter as long as he was in it. Softly smiling, he slipped off into a much-needed rest on Hoseok's shoulder, leaning on him gently. Hoseok couldn't do anything but lean his own head against him as the movie played it's ending notes.
