CHAPTER 21

Hadiza's Pov

"Hadiza have you had anything to eat",Aunty Aminat asked as she took of her shoes.

"Aunty Lisa offered me drink and biscuits but I took only the drink".

"Ohhohh I knew she would have offered you something that's why I asked".

"She is a very nice person",I said with a little smile.

"That's how Lisa is".

"And I have fried  chicken in the fridge oo,I just have to cook what to eat with it".

"I can help you with it since you just got back from work".

"Ehh no oo,I will do it myself..can you even put on the gas cooker",she said laughing.

"No I cant",I said playing with my fingers.

"It is not something hard ehn don't worry..I will teach you".

"Ok ma".

"Ehmm let me take my bath and I will be back,make yourself comfortable".

As she took her leave,I moved closer to check the frame on the wall and took a good look of the apartment and how beautiful it was.It must have really cost a fortune to stay in a place like this.I quickly sat down back so as to avoid spoiling anything.

"Hadiza!!",my aunty called out from a room.

"Ma",i walked towards where the voice came from but I didnt enter the room.

"I forgot to tell you to drop your bags in the other room because that is where you will be sleeping,it is the room by the left from the kitchen".

"The one with the blue door?",I asked her.

"Yes that one".

As I was headed towards the room,I heard a knock on the door.I quickly dropped my bags in front of my new room which gave my excitement.

"Who is there?".

"Lisa oo".

"I am coming ma".

I tried turning the door knob but it didnt open after using the key.

"The door didnt open ma".

"Hadiza there is another lock below the door knob,turn it to the back".

"Ehh I should not go and spoil this thing o",i said in a low tone.

The door opened immediately I turned it truly.

She already changed her clothes to a short gown compared to what she wore before.

"Good evening ma",I greeted her.

"Good evening Hadiza,where is my friend?",she asked as she took her seat.

"She is in the bathroom".

"Ok I will wait for her then".

"Someone dropped these clothes for me to give you before Aunty Aminat came",I said as I handed the nylon bag to her.

"Ahhh Afeez came by and he didnt tell me..ohh true true he called me this morning but I forgot",she checked the clothes as she was talking to me.

"He said to tell you that your money remains #500".

"Urrh Afeez has started again abi..which kind yeye #500 is that one anyways I will branch in his shop when I am going out tomorrow.Thank you jare".

"You are welcome ma".

I waited in the sitting room for like 5 minutes with Aunty Lisa until my aunty came out.I stood up to go inside as I saw her coming.

"Ahnahn Hadiza you didn't put on the tv".

"No ma".

"Why?...dont worry go and get settled in".

"Ehhm ok".

My room made me so happy as I put on the light.I was so excited and checked the wardrobe and bathroom as everything looked so different from what I have seen my whole life.I used the broom by the corner to sweep the floor and dusted everywhere until I was satisfied.

"Hadiza",Aunty Aminat knocked on the door.

"Yeeeee!!Aunty Aminat I am coming oo ",I said as I tried turning the hot water off as it beat my back but it didnt turn off.

"What happened to you",she rushed into the bathroom as she she heard my noise.

I was already in my wrapper when she came in.

"Hot water was rushing from up as I wanted to take water from the tap".

She turned it off before she started laughing hard.

"Ahh Hadiza oo,see it has cold n hot water ehn so this one that has blue on it is for cold water while the one with red on it is for hot water....",she explained the taps one by one including the shower.

"I think I will just fetch water inside bucket and take my bath".

"Ok no problem,I will be in the kitchen  cooking,Lisa has gone to her flat",she said and left the bathroom still laughing.

"Ok ma".

After she left,I also laughed at myself.I took my bath and went into the kitchen to assist her.We ate dinner.

"Hadiza we will talk tomorrow because I am very tired",she said as I cleared the plates.

"Ok ma".

"You can leave the plates if you can't wash them this night".

"No oo,Just two plates is no work for me".

"Ok let me wait for you then".

I quickly washed the plates and put them in the right place.

"I am through"

"Ok goodnight",she put off the lights and we went into our seperate rooms.

"Goodnight ma".

I slept off like a baby.
