CHAPTER 33

Hadiza's Pov

I went to Aunty Lisa's place with Stella for the holiday because her husband wasn't around and she needed us to keep her company after Mama also travelled back.Everytime I tried to bring up my aunty..Aunty Lisa and Stella always digressed or talked about something else.I began to suspect all was not well and they were hiding something from me.

"Hadiza I hope you are okay?I have missed you a lot even though I know it was just two days ago I saw you",I read Anthony's text message as it displayed on the screen of my torchlight phone.

Anthony still at least put a smile on my face with the little things he did.We grew fond of each other the last session.I just texted him back to let him know the situation of things and that I felt the same way.

"Why are you smiling like this?",Stella asked as she walked in on me looking at my phone.

"Nothing oo".

"Hmmn hmmn I know it's Anthony".

"Ahnahn are you a witch?How do you even know?".

"I have been in your shoes my dear so I know all these things",she said laughing amidst.

"Na you sabi..Stella wait I want to ask you something",I said as she was about turning back to leave where I was.

"Ehnehn what?".

"Are you hiding something from me because I feel you are".

She stuttered a little while answering me that she wasn't hiding anything from me.

"If you say so because I have noticed some things that I want to think it's nothing even though I know it is something".

"Don't worry everything is fine and ehnehn I want to see one of my male friends in that restaurant on the second street",she said.

"Ok oo".

"Which one be ok oo,abeg go wear clothes we are going together".

"Ahnahn I don't even know the person so what do I want to go and do there".

"It is one day that you will meet someone..shey we plan before say we go meet on the day wey we meet".

"Hmmn na you sabi,I was even tired of staying at home before".

After Stella's friend called her that he was waiting in the restaurant.We just wore our footwear because we were already dressed waiting for his call.

"Looks like he is the one sitting at that end",she said making me turn my head to that direction because the guy backed us.

"Ehhh our wife",the guy said to Stella as he stood up to hug her.

"Raymond raymond",she answered smiling back at him.

When he took notice of me standing to Stella,he spoke up.

"You didn't introduce me to your friend ni?",he said directing the question to Stella.

"I am sorry..I was just happy.Raymond meet Hadiza and Hadiza meet Raymond".

"I am Stella's husband because I don't know if she has told you about me".

I just smiled as we shook hands and he gestured for us to sit down.He and Stella spoke about a lot of things and they carried me along so I didn't feel left out in their conversations.

"If not that I graduated before you..we would have being in touch more but now that I have seen you..I will make sure to call you from time to time and wait do you still talk to Ola because I know you broke up with him after I graduated",Raymond said to Stella and it was there and then I realized he graduated from our school because Ola was Stella's ex-boyfriend.

"You remember that incident of when that drunk policeman shot at our car that night we were coming from a party on the Island which led to a bullet hitting Ola on his hand..I realized I could have been the one that got hit instead of him.I couldn't risk going out at night with him anymore which I knew wasn't going to be possible if we were still dating.So I just decided to stick to school and just school social gatherings till I graduate,but wait it seems you left earlier than we did that day now that I think of it and I and Ola talk once in a while in school when we see",Stella said to Raymond.

"You know I wasn't really feeling well like my coke was spiked or something but I heard the story the next day because the news went viral and Ola called to tell me he was admitted..Ola really liked you then oo".

"Wo na you know oo Oga Raymond".

After we ate to our satisfaction and drank,we gisted for some minutes and he decided to drop us off at Aunty Lisa's place since he came with a car.

"Bye beautiful ladies",he said before he drove away.

"Bye Raymond",we said together.
