Hadiza's Pov

"Hadiza let us go and check our score now",Stella said to me after her friend called to say her own was out.

"But I am scared o because I never wrote anything like it".

"Don't worry you sha picked and submitted it well na abi".

"Ehmmn yes Stella,see let us just go".

Truly after the exam,I was confident that I answered well but I doubted myself after the day.

"But wait oo I thought they used to send it our phone number na Stella".

"You are just looking for excuse not to go to the cybercafe".

"I am serious oo because what if we go and it is not out see let us wait for just one day".

"And you are making sense because my friend wrote her own exam before us oo".

"Ehhehn you see and I feel very tired so let me go inside and we will see later".

"Ok oo".

The day wasn't just good at all.At first,memories of the accident began to set in and back home the stress I went through before I got to Lagos was beginning to weigh down on me.

"Why are you sleeping here and not inside",my aunty asked me as she tapped me to wake up from the cushion as it was already late.

"Ahh I didn't know it was getting dark and I feel very tired as well".

"Ehnehn what happened to you?"

I had explained how I felt throughout the day to my aunty and she listened without interrupting.When I was done talking,she checked my body temperature.

"Are you sure you didn't hit your head that time you had an accident and it seems like you are going to have malaria oo?",she said feeling concerned about my current state.

"No I don't think I hit my head Aunty".

"Why didnt you tell me since morning that you are not feeling fine so that we would have gone to the chemist or hospital?".

"I didnt want to get you worried...I am sorry".

"But that is what you have just done..let me first get you paracetamol wait have you eaten?".

"I ate bread and drank tea before you came".

"Make e no be say na wetin go cause fight be that oo",she said as she made her way to the passage.

 My mother would have noticed from the moment I woke up this morning that something was wrong with me if she were to be with me.A tear dropped from my eye but I quickly wiped it off to avoid questions from my aunty.I really hated taking drugs even though I couldn't avoid it.

"Make sure you use the two o".

I closed my eyes and opened them again as I saw the drugs staring at me and I stared back at it.

"Take it now,I am waiting for you".

"I have to get better before tomorrow so that I won't use any drug",I said to myself.

"Urrh na you know o but how come I didn't see you looking like this when I was going out this morning".

"It wasn't up to this, this morning that's why aunty".

"Ehnehn and you have slept too much that's why it's getting worse,sorry ehn".

"Thank you Aunty".

"Next time when something is wrong with you talk oo Hadiza and you are sleeping in my room this night so that I can check you well".

Tears began to roll down as I felt really uncomfortable and it was as if the drug worsened my condition.I just laid on the bed as I was shivering.Aunty Aminat deeped clothes inside cold water to massage my body because I had a rising temperature.

"I sent the letter this morning and I added money to the one inside and I saw another letter there who was that for?.. Hmm I just hope it gets to Kano in the right condition".

"Arghh thank you Aunty...it is for Hauwa,my best friend",I said in pain as I tried to get up.

"Ahnahn there is no need to get up now ehn Hadiza..Just get through this night please because this your temperature ahh".

"Don't worry about me,I will wake up to help you tomorrow".

"Don't help me oo until your body is ok you hear?".

I wished my mother came with me because thinking about it she was going to be alone and there was nothing there for her at the same time.Only if I had convinced her more but I have to make her proud so that her efforts will not waste.I drifted to sleep without knowing till the next day.
