Sokka grabbed me by the hand, "Come on (Y/N)! Let's go watch Aang's lesson!"
An odd feeling settled in me at the idea of watching him teach Aang. Fear? Comfort? I have no clue.
"Sure," I rolled my eyes, "Let go watch."
I listened as we slowly approached, "Just breathe, and..." He sent out a puny blast of flame.
Aang got up from his seat, "That one kind of felt hot."
"Don't patronize me! You know what it's supposed to look like!"
"Sorry, Sifu Hotman."
"And stop calling me that!"
I laughed as Sokka and I approached, "Well you are a 'hot man'."
Sokka laughed beside me, "Hey, jerks! Mind if we watch you two jerks do your jerkbending?"
I high fived him, showing that his comment didn't offend me.
His face was red, "Get out of here!"
"Okay, take it easy. I was just kiddin' around," Sokka turned back and walked away, "Jerkbending, still got it."
I laughed, "You having trouble Jerk?"
He was still red in the face as he looked at me, "Why aren't you helping Aang with his training?"
I crossed my arms, "You know that the only source I can control my flame with is passion."
"And?"
I turned around, "No passion, no flame. Later losers!" I walked away.
I sat in the back that night. The campfire was warm. He was explaining the situation, "Listen everybody, I've got some pretty bad news. I've lost my stuff."
Toph raised her hands in surrender, "Don't look at me, I didn't touch your stuff."
"I'm talking about my firebending. It's gone."
I laughed, "Welcome to the club buddy."
Everyone else was silent, until Katara's laugh broke though, "I'm sorry. I'm just laughing at the irony. You know, how it would've been nice for us if you lost your firebending a long time ago."
"Well, it's not lost. It's just... weaker for some reason."
Katara was glaring, "Maybe you're not as good as you think you are."
Toph smiled, "Ouch."
"I bet it's because I changed sides."
Katara took a bite of her food, "That's ridiculous."
"I don't know. Maybe it isn't. I mean it happened with (Y/N)," Aang thought then turned back to him, "Maybe your firebending comes from anger and you just don't have enough of it to fuel your flames the way you used to."
Sokka smirked, "Sooo, all we need to do is make Zuko angry. Easy enough."
Sokka got up and started poking him with his sword's hilt. I smiled at the sound of Sokka's laugh.
"Okay, cut it out!" Sokka stopped poking him, "Look, even if you're right, I don't want to rely on hate and anger anymore. There has to be another way."
Toph took a bite of food, "You're gonna need to learn to draw your firebending from a different source. I recommend the original source."
Excitement seeped into Sokka's voice, "How's he supposed to do that? By jumping into a volcano?"
