~Zuko's POV~
"I have a question for you Aang. If that's true, what are you gonna do when you face the Firelord?"
Her eyes closed and her legs gave out. I quickly grabbed onto her, keeping her from hitting the ground.
Aang looked at the girl in my arms with a worried look on his face, "What's wrong?"
I placed my hand on her forehead, she was burning up, "She's been acting off since we went after the raiders. I just thought..."
I picked her up in my arms, I went back towards the camp. She grabbed onto my shirt as we walked. If I wasn't so worried, it would be cute. Her eyes were clenched shut. I could feel her heavy breath on my chest.
Sokka and Suki met us as we got to camp. Suki called for Katara when she noticed (Y/N) in my arms.
Katara ran out, "What happened!? I left you alone for less than a minute!"
I showed her (Y/N)'s body, "She was acting off while we were on our mission. I didn't think about it. We were distracted."
Katara led me to the fire and had me sit her down on Katara's blanket. (Y/N) didn't want to let go. She kept clinging to me, I had to gently pull her hands off of me. Katara started to examine her.
"I don't know how much I can do," Katara sighed as she started bending, "Sokka, go get her some drinking water."
He nodded and ran off. Suki got another blanket and sat it by (Y/N). I felt like I needed to do something, but when I tried to get up Katara would tell me to sit back down.
She started mumbling, "I told (Y/N) to get some sleep. You're more likely to get sick if you don't get enough sleep."
Toph was sitting nearby, "Don't be so harsh on her. We've all been through a lot recently. We each cope differently."
Katara pulled back her hands, "Still..."
Aang frowned, "but she's been sleeping regularly now. Why did she get sick?"
"Well it takes a while to make up for sleep deficiency," Katara sighed, "But she should be fine in a day or two. She just overworked herself while she was developing the cold."
Sokka came back with the water, "So she's going to be fine?"
Toph rolled her eyes, "That's what Katara just said genius."
"She'll be fine," Katara grabbed the water and sat it next to (Y/N)'s sleeping form, "But we'll have to stay here until she gets better."
I looked up, the sun had almost completely disappeared behind the horizon.
I looked over to (Y/N)'s tent, "I'll go put her in the tent."
I picked her back up. Suki and Katara followed me with the water and extra blanket. (Y/N) must have gone into a deeper sleep, because she wasn't clinging to me. She made a slight whimpering sound as I sat her on her 'bed'.
I watched as the two set the items down, "I'll stay with her."
Katara stood back up, "You don't have to."
I sat down next to (Y/N), "It wouldn't be the first time one of us stayed overnight. But it was mostly (Y/N) staying with me."
Suki placed her hand on Katara's shoulder, but kept her eyes on me and (Y/N), "It'll be okay," She looked to Katara, "Let's leave them be."
Hours passed. I was sure the others had gone to bed. The only light was the light of the moon and the candle I kept going with my bending.
I wonder if this is how I looked back when I was sick in Ba Sing Se. Lightly sweating, trembling under the blankets, and making -admittedly- cute mewing sounds when she turned over in her sleep.
