Not Without You - A Stucky Fanfic

Chapter Four

Steve woke up to the booming sound of a flight attendant announcing that they were about to land. Steve slept through full twelve hours, it being the best sleep he had in the past few days.

As soon as the plane landed, Steve got up to get off the plane, letting out children and their parents, and older couples as he was exiting to make sure they got off safely.

He got off the plane and out of the gate, going straight to the luggage carrier. He grabbed his suit case and went to the black Sedan King T'Challa had assigned to pick him up in.

Steve found the Sedan and hopped into the back with his suitcase, and the driver proceeded to drive back to the palace. Steve was looking out the window, looking at the beautiful landscape of East Africa and 20 minutes later, they arrived at the palace.

Steve stepped out of the Sedan when it rolled to a stop. He said his thanks to the driver, grabbed his suit case and closed the door. He walked away from the car and to the entrance of the palace where T'Challa was standing, waiting for Steve.

"Welcome back, Captain" T'Challa greeted Steve with a handshake.

Steve returned the greet and said, "your Highness, I am sorry for coming back so soon but I missed Bucky. It is great to see you." Steve and T'Challa began walking to where Bucky was located.

Steve stepped into the room and almost fell to tears when he saw Bucky beyond the glass. Steve put his bag on the floor and walked to Bucky, staring at him the entire time. He put his hand on the glass, as if doing that action would make him connect with Bucky more.

"I came back, Buck. Did you miss me?" Steve smiled, as tears started falling from his ocean blue eyes. Steve grabbed a chair and brought it next to him to sit down on, as he kept close next to Bucky. Steve smiled up at Bucky, knowing that this is what he wanted and he wouldn't of been able to change his mind.

"I didn't realize you'd make me come back so soon, I missed you though. You were also haunting my dreams a little though, I hope you come out of here and still want to be friends. I'm scared that you'll forget about me, but don't worry, I'll spend the rest of my life reminding you of me if I have to" Steve mumbled to Bucky, knowingly he won't answer back.

"You know he is doing this for you right, Captain Rogers?" T'Challa said, nearly making Steve jump out of his skin.

Steve sighs and replies, "yeah, but he's doing it for him and the betterment of him. He wants to get away from Hydra as much as he can, and I'll be there for him through it all. He's my best friend after all."

"Indeed he is. He's an intelligent person, doing this will sure help him. Shuri has been working a lot on him and his brain recently, trying to figure out how to erase his trigger words from his mind" T'Challa exclaims as he walks over to Steve. He also added, "Your friends will arrive in five minutes. Not sure if you knew but they figured you might have come back so they came here too."

Steve looked away from Bucky and looked at T'Challa. Worry laced his eyes, he didn't want them to see him like this. It was bad enough having Sharon see him when he was on the floor in the shower.

Steve shrugged it off and looked back to Bucky, seeing the peaceful look on his face made Steve smile, knowing his best friend was at peace.

T'Challa walked away from Steve to the back entrance of the palace where the Quinjet would
land and and as he got there, it just landed.

Natasha and the others exited the jet to stand looking at T'Challa and the palace behind him. Natasha spoke up, "sorry for the late notice, but we thought Steve would be here. He didn't tell us where he was going."
