Not Without You - A Stucky Fanfic

Chapter Eleven

It was the following morning, tomorrow was Steve's birthday. Steve woke up and he could feel his legs. Finally I can feel my legs, he thought.

He got out of bed slowly, the constant waking up from screaming or sweating from nightmares made him feel groggy so he decided to take a shower before he started his day. He walked over to the bathroom to turn the shower on. He turned it to really hot so that he wouldn't have to worry if it got cold to bring back any sudden memories.

He stripped out of his clothes and hopped in the shower letting the hot water hit him.

Ten minutes later he turned off the water, got out, dried himself off, and walked back into his room. Steve goes to his drawers and grabs underwear and shorts then, he goes to his closet to grab a grey t-shirt. He looks at the time, 9:10am and he exits his room to head to the kitchen.

Steve decides to make pancakes for the whole team, so he gets out the ingredients to make them and the pan. He starts whisking everything together in a bowl until it's all mixed well and he sprays the pan.

He starts pouring batter into the pan, after a minute or two he flips them and then puts them on the plate when the other side is cooked. He does that until there is a stack of pancakes ready to be eaten by the avengers who stayed in the tower.

Natasha and Tony are the first to arrive in the kitchen. They grab their pancakes and get a cup of coffee from the pot Steve put on and sat at the table. Stephen, Bruce, Thor and Pepper all walk in and grab pancakes and coffee, saying good morning and thank you to Steve then proceeding to the table to eat. Bucky, Vision, Wanda, and Scott come trailing in last to grab food. Once they're done, Steve grabs himself a plate and a water and sit at the table next to Nat.

They all dig into the food and chat with each other until eventually they are all done. "Guys do you just want to do a lazy day and watch movies or a show, order Sharwarma and chill? Steve's birthday is tomorrow so I say we do that and fill tomorrow up with fun and energy." Bruce says to the team. He also added, "plus it gives Steve more time to rest."

The team all nods and agrees to having a lazy day while Steve just sits there. He thought he was all fine and rested up, but he knows he should listen to Bruce so he just nods.

They all get up and put their plates and silverware in the sink, and head to the couches and bean bags. The team settled on Criminal Minds to watch. They are on season 9 episode 5  and they all get comfortable and Tony presses play.

Many hours and a bunch of food and episodes of Criminal Minds later, Steve decides that he's going to go bed. He gets out of the beanbag he was in and leaves to his room, and that's when the rest of of the avengers start pulling wrapping paper, ribbon, balloon, gift bags, streamers, and anything else they could find to decorate the room and to wrap the presents they got for Steve.

Decorating duty was left to Wanda, Natasha, Pepper, Bruce, and Stephen so that it wouldn't get messed up. Wrapping duty was left to Bucky, Tony, Clint, Scott and Vision. Thor was there to help the decorating if someone needed to hang something in hard to reach places.

They all began decorating and wrapping presents for Steve. It took them two hours, but they got it done with a lot of coffee. They all headed to bed in hopes of their Captain liking the surprise they gave him.

Steve woke up screaming. It was from a nightmare of what he went through in the cell like room and he knew this one was too bad to go back to sleep so he decided to get up and start his day. He checked the time, it was 4:00am. He went to shower so he went to the bathroom and turned on the shower to the hot water as he stripped down and hopped in. Instead of ten minutes, he was in the shower for an hour. He let the hot water bead on his skin and he eventually started to wash his hair and body.
