Not Without You - A Stucky Fanfic

Chapter Ten

Steve just stared as Sharon came out of the elevator. He didn't know what to do, he was frozen.

Tears started to pool in his eyes as he tried to back up as she got closer. "Hey guys! Hey Steve, I'm so glad you're back, it's great to see your better!" Sharon acknowledged as she took a seat on the floor.

Steve didn't say anything, he kept trying to back up but he was hitting the back of the couch. Bucky notices and looks over at him, he sees the tears in the ocean blues of Steve's eyes and the fearful look on his face.

Bucky stood up and grabbed Steve. Everyone looked at them and Bucky just said, "Steve needed something from his room and I was getting up so I just decided to go with him."

Bucky walks away with Steve attached to his hip. They make their way to Steve's room and Bucky leads them in and closed the door. As soon as the door closed, Steve hugged Bucky and started to sob into his shoulder. Bucky hugged him back, tighter than Steve and just let him cry until he felt okay.

Bucky eventually speaks up, "hey, you want to tell me what's going on?"

Steve let go of Bucky and had Bucky help him to his bed. He was wondering when the super-solider serum would kick in and help him. "This is why I ran away earlier, only Bruce knows" Steve admitted as he started to pull up his shorts on the left thigh to show the word on it.

Bucky gasped, his face held a sad look as he looked back up at Steve. "I'm so sorry, Steve. I wish it was me, not you." Bucky exclaimed.

Steve quickly responded, "I'm glad it was me and not you. You've been through enough, Buck. I can handle this fight on my own."

"Yeah I know, but the thing is, you don't have to."

"I know." Steve stood up to grab a hoodie and wanted to get back to the group before they questioned where he went. He would have to face her but he could do it.

Bucky and Steve walked out of the room once Steve got his hoodie. They walked the same way they got there and as they got there, Tony stated, " look, Capsicle and Bucky mc-boing boing are back! We can start the game."

Bucky just rolled his eyes at the nickname and helped Steve sit, and they joined in on the game. Steve was tense and Bucky knew that he was, but he just ignored that and watched the game.

About an hour into monopoly, lots of laughter and chitchat later, it was Bucky's turn. "I really missed you pumpkin and I hope that-"

Bucky stopped rolling the dice in his hand. He looked up and his face went dark with emotion. Bruce looked up, but Bucky was the one to speak. "What did you just call him?" Bucky asked furiously.

Sharon realized what she said but kept her cool. "I didn't call him anything, what do you mean?"

Bucky was standing up and started to walk towards her. "I said what did you call him. You certainly called him something so what was it?" Bucky sneered. He was ready to tackle her after what he heard her say.

"I.. I called him pumpkin. Is that a crime?" Sharon told Bucky, sensing the fear in her voice. "why are you walking over here so fast?"

The whole group is just looking at the scene take place, not knowing what is happening and what caused Bucky to be like this.

Bucky snapped angrily. "Yes it's a crime." He was getting mad at how she was acting, like there was nothing bad about calling him that. Bucky added hastily, "you wanna see some real speed bitch?" With that, Bucky tackled Sharon ready to punch her square in the face until he heard one voice among the yelling ones.

"Buck, don't hurt her. You don't need to do this and don't add this to your conscious, okay?"

Bucky put his fist down and just said, "call the government. She's with HYDRA." Bucky got up and tied her legs and feet together so she couldn't escape. Bucky walked back to the couch and hugged Steve. He whisper in his ear, "thank you, Steve. I would've punched her if it weren't for you." Steve smiled and hugged Bucky back tighter.

The whole group started to play monopoly once the government people came and took Sharon. A few hours later, Pepper and Tony won, with Clint and Peter in last place. Bruce and Natasha kept going to jail, they only got the two brown spaces. Peter and Tony ended up with the two blue spaces, and the red spaces with one yellow space. Steve and Bucky has the light blue and and two of the red, Thor and Wanda had the one red space and the two yellow spaces. Scott and Stephen has the orange spaces with two green, and Clint and Peter has the remaining green space with two other spaces on the board. However, they kept losing money to everyone else and therefore, lost.

It was around 11pm when they finished so they all decided to watch a movie. They decided on the Disney movie, Frozen II. Clint grabbed the popcorn while everyone else either took the couch or a bean bag that Tony pulled out and sat and watched the movie.

About thirty minutes in, Steve started to drift off and eventually fell asleep. His head started to fall and it ended up on Bucky's shoulder which got his attention. He looked to his right to see Steve asleep and he just smiled. Steve looked at peace and Bucky was happy that he was after everything he went through the past couple of weeks.

Bucky looked around the room, seeing that Peter, Clint, and Thor were all asleep. Bucky decided that he would take Steve to his room so he could sleep more comfortably.

Bucky stood up and picked Steve up bridal style. He grunted and mumbled, "jeez, I liked it more when you weighed 90 pounds because this was much easier, big boy."

He walked to Steve's room and laid him in his bed, and before he left he looked down at Steve. Him and Steve have been through hell and back and he hoped that all bad things that happen to them, to him, will die down.

Bucky gave one last smile and left his room, going back to watch the movie with Steve on his mind.
