It's been five days since most of the team left for Washington. Natasha and Bruce have Brent together most of the team, which left Steve alone so he has been running, working out and training. To be fair, he has done anything to keep his mind away from the fact that Bucky was gone and that he could get hurt while at the convention.
It was a lovely Tuesday morning and Steve was punching his punching bag after getting done with his workout he had previously when he got a call.
He looked at his phone and it says Wanda, he was confused as to why she's be calling when she's probably busy but he answered nonetheless.
"Hello?" Steve questioned Wanda.
"Steve, it's Bucky.." She whispered over the phone.
Steve froze in place, listening to Wanda and trying to grasp every word of it.
Wanda finished talking and Steve started to run out of the gym, running to his room and taking a quick shower. Bucky was going to be at the hospital there in New York in an hour with Stephen and Wanda didn't give any explanation as to what happened since she had to get back to the convention and keeping the president safe.
Steve took a shower, changed, and started to pace around his room. Steve didn't want to think of worse case scenario, but sadly, he did.
Steve started to think about the day he got to war base and found the Bucky might've died with the 107th. The time when Bucky fell off the train and he thought he died when they fought Hydra.
"I have to go look for him! There's a chance he could be alive and the least we could do is bring justice to his family!" Steve exclaims to the Howling Commandos once they finish infiltrating the train.
"Fine, we can do it for a few hours but we need to be back to base before sundown" Dum Dum Dugan said to their leader.
Steve nodded and started to head down the alps, in search of Bucky. His feet hit the bottom of the alps, snow up to his shins as he started looking for Bucky.
Him and the Commandos started to search and search and search until Dum Dum and Gabe called out to the others that they needed to leave to make it back to their base by sundown.
Steve didn't want to leave, he didn't want to leave Bucky out in the cold, alone. He was just about to head back when he saw a trail of blood.
"Guys, wait. I see blood!" Steve yells to the others as he starts to follow the blood, ignoring his soaked suit at the shins and his numb feet as he continued to follow. The Commandos were behind him as the blood trail started to end, the only thing that could be seen was something silver in the milky white snow.
Steve attempts to run the short distance to the shiny object in the snow and when he gets there, he grabs it.
It's a dog tag. Steve flips it over to read what it says.

Remembering they swapped dog tags, Steve picked them up and started to follow the Commandos back to base, giving them the news that they lost a man in the process.
Steve remembered that he still had both sets of tags and started to rummage through his chest at the foot of his bed. He took the blankets out until he reached the bottom of the chest. At the bottom there was a brown, aged box. Steve pulled it out and pulled the lid off, revealing things from his past that he has found or collected since he's been out of the ice.
Both Bucky and Steve's dogs tags were in there since Steve went down in the ice with them around his ankles, sketches that Steve had drew, Steve's compass that had Bucky's picture in it, covered by Peggy's that he also had in the ice, a Howling Commando's patch, and a picture of him and Bucky before they fought Hydra.
