To my best friend, this is for you, I miss you

Bucky woke up, ready to turn over to see his boyfriend but when he looked over, no one. Just the smooth sheets of where it was empty.

Every morning Bucky wakes up, hoping to see Steve next to him and gets disappointed every time. Bucky drags himself out of the bed and walks out of the bedroom to the kitchen.

In the kitchen held Vision, making breakfast for the few avengers. Who knew an android could make breakfast, Bucky thought.

Nonetheless, Bucky grabs some of the eggs, bacon and hashbrowns Vision had made and sits at the table, Vision shortly following.

Vision speaks, "good morning, Mr. Barnes. How did you sleep?"

"Good morning, I slept fine, you?" Bucky asked, shoveling eggs into his mouth.

"I simply don't sleep, I'm an android and have no soul. I close my eyes and nothing happens so you could say I slept fine as well."

Bucky just nods and the two eat in silence until both have finished. Bucky picks up his plate and takes it to the sink, Vision shortly following.

"What are your plans for today, Mr. Barnes?" Vision asks, breaking the silence.

"I think I'll go on a run."

"I'm afraid you can't, sir."

"Why not?" Bucky questions, confused. He thought he could do whatever he wanted, and a robot goes and tells him no.

"It is raining." Bucky sighs and walks to the closest window he can see which is in the living room.

He looks out the window and it is, in fact, raining. It's pouring and they are able to hear the thunder and see the lightning.  "It's so pretty," Bucky says, a small smile appearing on his features, eyes trained on the droplets emitting from the sky.

Vision floats over next to Bucky. "Even when it rains, the city still stands tall holding its beauty and never losing its movement," Vision explains, looking out at the city as well.

"You hear anything from Captain Rogers?"

Bucky sighs. He hasn't, not since the train issue. It's been silent and he doesn't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Nonetheless, Bucky replies, "no, I haven't. They haven't contacted me, sorry Vision."

"Oh it's quite alright, Mr. Barnes."

"Clear," Steve says over the ear piece.

Gunshots are heard and Steve, Wanda and Scott freeze. "Tony, are you guys alright?"

Grunts are heard on the other line and and all three of them can hear more gunshots so, they run over to where the others should be.

When they reach Nat, Clint, and Tony, they see an out of breath Nat, Clint's arm grazed and Tony taking off his face mask while HYDRA agents are either killed or tied up on the ground. Two dead and four tied up.

"Let's get these guys to the Van. You guys end up searching the rest of the place and getting any intel?" Nat asked, regaining composure.

"Yep, it's all secured, let's get ready to head to Russia."

"Perfect."

The six avengers begin to drag out the tied up HYDRA agents back to the van to escort them to get them back to HQ, they could have valuable intel.

As they are getting into the van, getting ready to get back to the train station and quinjet, Steve decides to contact SHIELD and to let the avengers at the compound know what their next move is.

Steve contacted Fury, letting him know to send a jet of agents to their landing site for the pickup of the agents. Now to contact Bucky.

Steve clicks Bucky's name to call him, letting the line ring. "Come on Bucky, pick up the phone," he says to himself.

After two rings, he hears his lovers voice. "Stevie? I haven't heard from you in ages, are you okay?" Bucky says over the phone.

"Yeah, Buck. We are wrapping it up here in Germany and will be on our way to Russia soon, I just wanted to here your voice." Steve smiles, he couldn't wait to see Bucky again.

"Awh Darling, I'm glad you'll be done soon. I can't wait for you to come home, Captain."

Steve laughs, until he sees Natasha motioning him that it's time to leave. "I'm sorry Buck, but duty calls. I have to go," he says, the sadness visible in the tone he used.

"Stevie, you have no reason to be sad, just get the job done. You got this, just come home to me."

"I will, I love you Bucky," Steve said.

"I love you too" and with that, Steve hung up the phone hand hopped in the van.

Now, Russia.

"Mr. Barnes, do you care to join me for a stroll around New York? I quite fancy a walk and the rain has stopped," Vision asks Bucky.

"Sure, I'll join you," Bucky smiles, he was getting to know Vision better and he greatly appreciated it.

Knowing that Vision also wanted to get to know himself better couldn't make him any happier. They wanted to know him, even with the past he has had.

"Oh! Steve called and said they are on their way to Russia soon, which hopefully they will be home soon!"

Vision smiles, "that is great news, now shall we?"

"We shall." Vision turns into his human self and walks to the elevator with Bucky, going down to the lobby of Avengers tower.

Once they reach the bottom, the begin their walk down the streets of Manhattan, having chatter here and there, and Bucky opening up to Vision, sharing some of his past.

"Hey, Vision?" Bucky became nervous, he didn't know how asking Vision this question would turn out.

"Yes, Mr. Barnes?"

"How come you're being so nice to me, when you know everything I've done. Every murder, every action, every mission I've ever had. I'm a bad person, can't you see it?" Bucky explains, desperately wanting an answer.

Vision glances at him. "I know I've seen everything you've done, or what the Winter Soldier has done. Your past simply doesn't define you, it only means that whatever hell you've been through, it's made you the strong person you are now. Don't blame yourself for not being in control of your mind, you were fighting the Winter Soldier, but every chance you got close you were wiped. Your not him anymore. I fancy your company, you're rather exquisite and have quite the intelligence. But your past is the past for a reason, you're a different person who I like to consider my friend," Vision explains to him, seeing Bucky's shocked face. He knew that's not what he expected, but it was the honest answer.

"I consider you my friend as well, Vision."

"Great, now let's go back to the tower, I'm famished."

Bucky laughs and the pair begin to walk back to the tower, laughing and keeping up conversations the entire way back. Both of them glad that they became better friends than they were a few hours ago.
