Chapter 23

Sakura's pov
After hours and hours of running and leaping from one tree to the other we were exhausted yet we wanted to arrive at the village early the next morning and we had 5 more hours to go. Itachi and I sit down by the closest tree we saw my legs tired ready to give out " Are we gonna continue our way to the village? " I asked Itachi who was just as tired as me. He turned his head to me " Well we did want to arrive early your choice. " he said seaming not to care. I sigh and I say " Let's rest for a while my legs feel like they will give out if I make another single step. " Itachi simply nodded and rested his head on the bark of the tree. I tilt my head backwards to rest it on the bark as soon as my head hit the bark I felt sleep taking over I shook my head and I open my eyes to prevent myself from falling asleep. I look at Itachi I smile but my smile fades when I see blood dripping through his mask down his jaw. I silently get up and I slowly make my way to Itachi I sit in between his legs since his legs are spread. My hand slowly travels to his mask and I start to lift it I was surprised that he hasn't stopped me yet. I kept on lifting the mask off his face I took off completely and I placed it on my lap I look at Itachi's blood covered face his sharingan is draining him so much and so much damage is being made to his eyes. My thumb bushes over his now bloody cheek. I reach in my pouch and I take out a dry cloth I slowly and quietly get up and I go dampen the cloth in the cold river. I walk back to Itachi I sit on the spot where I sat before I softly start to rub the dried blood away he suddenly awakened he slowly opened his eyes. He opened his mouth to say something but no words came out I continued to wipe the blood away when I was done I was about to get up to wash the wet and blood stained cloth. As I was getting up Itachi grabbed me by my waist and he pulled me on top off him right in his lap I raise an eyebrow at his actions. He sighed " How did you see the blood it was under my mask. " I let out a soft chuckle and I say " Well the blood dripped down your jaw. " he sighed I smile and I kiss his forehead softly I get up and I head to the river to wash the cloth. I scrubbed the cloth I suddenly felt two strong arms snake around my waist I nearly scream at the touch I turn around to see Itachi I let out a sigh of relief and I ask " Why did you creep up on me like that? " he buried his head in to my neck and mumbled " I wanted to. " I smile I suddenly feel a cold and soft kiss on the back off my neck I felt the goosebumps starting to form on my skin. I look over to see Itachi with his head still buried in the back of my neck lightly kissing it. I could feel my skin go cold with every kiss he had planted his lips burning my ice cold skin. I start to get up since I have decided that it's time to continue our way to the village. I could feel the warm pair of arms leaving my waist and the hot lips detaching from my cold skin. I twist the cloth and I squeeze a much water out off it as I can I placed it back in my pouch and I tuned to Itachi " We should continue our way back to the village. " he simply nodded and with that we went back the get the jinchuuriki. Itachi places the older man over his shoulder carefully he picked up his mask and he placed it over his face. He looked at me and I nod and with that we disappear in the trees and in the dark night. After 5 long and exhausting hours we were standing in front of the large gates of Konoha. We step in to the village and we get greeted by the guards at the gates we bow to them as greeting them back and I ask one off them " Is the Hokage in her office? " the guard nods I thank him and me and Itachi now head to the Hokage tower. We are walking up the stairs to Tsunade's office I look the the doors and I see Ino,Sasuke,Naruto and Kakashi enter her office great the first thing I need is to meet them just great. Me and Itachi are now standing in front off Tsunade's office I raise my hand and I knock lightly on the large door in front of us. I hear a calm come in so I push the door open and I step in with Itachi behind me we bow the Hokage as we hear the door close. We stand up straight and face the older woman in front of us. She looks at us I could see her eyebrow raise " You two are back early. " I nod and I look over at Itachi and I tilt my head to the side signaling to set down the older man against the wall. Itachi careful sat the man against the wall he then walked back and stood next to me. Tsunade smiles " You two did good you two will have two days off and if I can ask who did you fight? " I look at her and I say coldly " Hidan and Kakuzu. " she nods and look back at Naruto,Ino,Sasuke and Kakashi " I have a mission for you. " I see Naruto's eyes light up " Alright what is it granny?! " he asked Tsunade sighed " You four will go after Kabuto and Sasuke's teammates. " Naruto nods and smiles at Tsunade " You are dismissed! " "Hai! " me and Itachi say we make hand signs and soon enough I disappear with my beloved Sakura pebbles and Itachi disappears in crows. We appear in front of my front door I unlock the door and I let Itachi go in first I go in after him. I close the door behind me and me and Itachi take our shoes off I walk in to the bathroom and I close the door behind me. I take my mask off and I undress myself I turn on the water and I let it warm up after a while I get in. As I feel the relaxing hot water run down my body I grabbed the shampoo bottle and I squeeze it on my hand and I rub in to my scalp. I then suddenly hear the door open and then I remembered something I didn't lock the door...
