"How do you do that?"
I asked Ji-Eun as we were walking down the hall. Apparently, the homeroom period was our last period for today. Now, we were all heading home.
"Do what?" Ji-Eun asked.
"You know; Jang-Mi was sent to the office."
"Oh." Ji-Eun paused and laughed. "Like I said, one, teeny, weensy little report from me and then anyone of you could be sent to the principal's office."
"Yes, I know that." I spoke. "What I meant was, how were you able to send her to the principal's office even if we didn't go, or rather you didn't even go to the principal's office?"
"Oh, well." Ji-Eun started. "Remember that I'm always on my phone, right? And surprisingly, I connected my phone to my father's computer and speaker, and he heard everything that Park Jang-Mi said about you."
"Thank you." I muttered. Ji-Eun gave me a smile. "It- It really means a lot. In my old school, nobody really defended me."
"We are here for you, Hyun." Suzy reassured. "We will be by your side no matter what." Ji-Eun smiled.
I'm not used to any of these words, since I never really had any friends. But, when it was Ji-Eun and Suzy, everything inside me, made it all tingly inside.
That's when, Namjoon came all of a sudden, running, well more like rushing down the hall way, and he looked at me with a bit of teary eyes. I panicked a bit at his state.
"Hey, Hyun." Namjoon greeted me. "Look, we have to go home now. Dad just called, and even the both of them are surprised and shocked."
"Oh, okay." I said, turning towards Suzy and Ji-Eun. "Uhm, I guess I'll see you tomorrow then? Something just came up."
"Yeah, no problem." Suzy said with a wave of her hand. "See you tomorrow, Seohyun!" They both waved.
"Have a good day, Hyun. You too, Mr. Kim. Bye Seohyun!" Ji-Eun spoke as she bowed towards Namjoon and walked away with Suzy.
"Uhm, what happened?" I asked as we hurried walking towards the bus stop. He didn't say anything as he practically ignored me and only waited for the bus to come.
I pouted as a sickening feeling bubbled inside of me, as if my own body was telling me that something wasn't or isn't right. I clutched the end of my skirt-something I'd do when I would get nervous.
I hope everything's okay. I thought.
As soon as I practically ran down the street to our house, I opened the door with an extra key, nearly ripping the skin off my hand as I inserted the key with so much force.
"What's happening?" I nearly yelled as I entered the house with a blast. Dad jumped at my voice while Taehyung still had a small shocked look on his face as tears welled up in his eyes. I tilted my head.
"Wait- what is wrong?" I asked, more softly.
"Seohyun." A soft voice called somewhere in the house. I stiffened at the voice. I heard foot steps behind me, I turned around to see Namjoon at me with a soft, and fond look.
"Mom?" I slowly turned around and the key fell to the floor in total shock. My heart beat quickened as tears welled up in my eyes as well.
"M-Mom.." I stuttered out. My backpack fell to the floor as I ran over to her, everything seemed like it was in slow-motion. Mom opened her arms and accepted me into her warm embrace.
"You're back.." I mumbled into her shoulder as I cried, tears violently rolled down my cheeks and wetting her white blouse. I didn't focus on anything as I only focused on the moment with my own mother.
