Sixty-five

Today is the big day. Today is the first day of the annual sports' festival, and I couldn't be more half disappointed, and half excited. I really wanted to join today, but due to my injury, I can't compete.

Today is March 8, Monday- Mr. Yang said that since March one to March five were given for extra training, it was postponed 'til March 8, today. I really hope our team will win, I have a lot of hope and faith that we will.

Even if I can't compete, I'll be there to cheer for them. I sigh as I entered the school's premises, the first set of competitions will start at 8 AM, and it is now 7:26 AM, and everyone is already preparing.

I was wearing black swimming shorts (for girls of course), which had slits on either side so that the short wouldn't rise without me having to adjust it. I was wearing a white t-shirt with our school's logo as well, and I had my blue shoulder bag around my shoulder.

Since the entire week will be all about activities, we will not be given any school tasks- which I am thankful for since school is one of the things that triggers a lot of stress- especially since we are moving onto a new chapter of our lives.

I sighed as Namjoon helped me into the classroom, Suzy and Chungha rushed over to me. Suzy, since she is in the badminton club, she is wearing her badminton uniform. Chungha, since she is in the dance club, is wearing normal school clothes with her face glistening with make-up.

"You look pretty, Hyun!" Suzy complimented, I giggled as they both helped me to my seat. Everyone was already in their respective clothes, and I could hear the excitement buzzing through the air.

"Why aren't you wearing yours?" I asked as Chungha plopped down beside me, she looked at me, before she and Suzy giggled.

"I'm wearing something underneath." She whispered, she raised her skirt up a bit to reveal black shorts, glistening with diamonds. I nodded in excitement.

"I can't wait!" Suzy squeaked, "Everyone has worked hard for the past one and a half month, so I hope our practicing was worth it."

"I wish the best." I spoke, "Even if I can't watch you, I know that we will all do our best- injured or not." Suzy and Chungha nodded respectfully.

"What time is it?" Suzy asked.

"7:31." Chungha replied, "Why?"

"I just- can't wait." Suzy said with a small squeal like a child, I could sense her excitement even if she was literally in front of me, and I'm glad that she was also feeling excited.

That was when Miss. Lim entered the classroom, along with different teachers. I looked at Suzy and Chungha, who seemed all jittery all of a sudden which left me confused.

"Good morning, class." Miss. Lim started, "It is nearly the time for all of the competitions to start, now, let us move towards our designated courts."

My classmates cheered as everyone got up from their chairs and from the floor (mostly students who are in the dance club: meaning they were stretching and warming-up), and started exiting the classroom.

Miss. Lim then met eye contact with me, she then smiled before she turned to the door. I looked at the door to see Mr. Yang with a wheelchair. My eyes widened as Mr. Yang entered the classroom, wheeling the wheelchair towards me.

I gave him a thankful smile before I got up with the help of my crutches. I then waddled over to the wheelchair, and slowly sat down, keeping my crutches lying on my lap and on the arm rests.

Mr. Yang then turned around, and started wheeling me out of the classroom. Many students were rushing and running down the hallway, excitement buzzing through the atmosphere.
