*Luar-ke P.O.V.*

I watched my mate and his lou run off into the trees. Mollie had a determined light in her dekna. I felt something strange rise in my chest. I took a deep breath and slipped into the trees. I had to stay focused and protect my family.

I let out a low growl and activated my cloak. I climbed up into a tree and looked around. I could see Yeyinde stalking a group of five Oomans. They all had a weapon and were following Mollie and Marcus.

I scanned around and saw a second group of Oomans. I let out a low growl and followed them. I caught up with the group. Then I slipped out of the trees and grabbed one of the Oomans. I carried him through the trees. I reached a tall tree and climbed back up. The Ooman screamed loudly as I carried him.

I got to a sturdy branch and held him up by his ankle. He continued to scream loudly. The group of Oomans came running up. They had their weapons drawn. They started shooting all around themselves.

"I'm up here, help!" The Ooman male I held shouted. "It's a monster!"

I huffed and looked at him. I slowly extended my arm and dropped him towards his group. He screamed the whole way down. The scream was cut short when the cord I had him tied to was yanked tight. The male's body swung around.

"Oh my God, is he dead?" One of them asked. "He is, he's fucking dead!"

"Calm down, we'll kill these monsters and bring the traitors in!" The leader barked. "Now shoot into the tree!"

They all cocked their guns and started firing at where I had been sitting. I chuckled from my new vantage point. I zoomed my mask in on the leader. He looked like the most fun to mess with. I decided to kill him last.

"Where the hell did it go?" One of the other Oomans squealed.

"Shut up and look around!" The leader snapped.

I cocked my head as I watched them run around clumsily. I clicked my mandibles rapidly as they tripped over the ground. I flared my mandibles in confusion. My mate and his lou were so deft and graceful when navigating their planet. I couldn't help but wonder why they move so differently from these Oomans.

"Hey, there's something over there!" An annoying squeaky voice said. "There, right there that tree!"

I huffed in amusement as they fired on the tree across from mine. One of the Oomans stepped back and into a trap. It snapped him up and yanked him into the air. He screamed as he swung around by an ankle.

His buddies watched him swing. He flailed around, trying to release his ankle. I trilled in amusement. I heard a second trill behind me. I barely peeked back and saw Yeyinde behind me.

"Who are you saving for last my friend?" He asked. "Ah, I see him."

I nodded and looked back at the Ooman. Yeyinde chuckled and slipped away. He still had one male left to finish off. I growled and unsheathed my wrist blades.

"Whose there, please we were hired!" He squealed. "I swear it's just a job!"

I slowly reached out and cut the line. He fell with a short-lived yelp. I sighed and cracked my neck. This was already boring. These Oomans hardly put up a fight.

I huffed and looked back at the group. I was done playing with them. They weren't getting anywhere near my family. I jumped to the ground and started following the group. I grabbed two of the Oomans and yanked them into the trees.

"I can't believe this!" The leader screamed. "How has that thing gotten hold of so many of our people!"

I watched him look around. His smirk was wiped off his face. He was the last man standing. I started laughing loudly. He whipped around, trying to locate me.
