13. Return of the Ex's

It was about time I found out the truth about the accident. And Jackson decided to help with that.

We were going to leave for Ohio tomorrow morning, so today I had to get to work.

My dad finally decided the company I would be taking over.

I got into the car and make my way to the office building. My dad really went all out, the place is huge.

I walked in with my guards right behind me and everyone started trembling.

Exactly what I expected.

I went into my office and it had already been decorated, just my style.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door and my guards quickly brought out their guns and were ready to kill any threat.

"Chill dudes, what's with the whole aim at the door thing"

"Young mistress your father had instructed us to always be alert". I rolled my eyes at his response. Over protective much.

"Come in". I told the person at the door. A lady walked in and she seems to be in her late 40s.

"Sorry to disturb you, but I wanted to introduce your assistant. He's actually a new intern but he's perfect for the job". She was trembling in fear as she spoke. Then again it's not everyday your new boss turns out to be a mafia princess.

"Intern huh?. Okay then but he's your responsibility. If he makes even one mistake you're the one getting the bullet"

"Y.. y.. yes madam"

"Bring him in"

She went out the room and came back with a guy. He was staring at the floor probably scared.

He slowly lifted his head.

Holy crap.

It's Cole.

Cole Andrews. My ex. But not just any ex. My first. My first love. My first everything. My first heartbreak. The idiot who slept with one of my best friends.

Now he's here.

Why does my life have to be like this. First Theo, now Cole.

If my life was a movie, it would be return of the ex's.

"Well, well if it isn't Cole Andrews". He smirked when I called his name and the lady who brought him in was utterly confused.

"Everyone. Leave. Now. I want to have a word with Mr Andrews"

"But young mistress". A guard spoke then I grabbed my gun and shot his leg.

"Leave!". They all started trooping out and assisting the one I had shot.

"Well Carla isn't this a shocking turn of events". Cole said as he walked towards me.

"I don't go by that name anymore. Call me Alexa. But seeing as you're my assistant, madam is just fine"

"Alright then madam. I heard my boss was a mafia princess. Your roots go deeper than I thought"

"Such is life"

"And I can see you've changed alot. You're no longer the push over I knew. You're tougher now and hotter". He said with a smirk on his face.

"I never actually saw you with a future. No offense. I always thought you'd end up a drug addict living in your mum's garage"

"That was actually the path I was heading but after Harley died and you left town, I realized that life's too short. Why waste it on alcohol drugs and one night stands"

"Wow, you've really changed alot. But I'm sure that worthless part of you still exists"

"Yeah. It does. Even when people change it's still hard to shed away every bit of your old self. Pieces of it still lingers around"

"Okay okay. Enough with the wise man talk. Since you're my assistant and I'm your boss. We don't need to share a personal relationship"

"Yes madam"

"I'm leaving town tomorrow and I might be gone a couple of days, so email me all the necessary documents and I don't drink black coffee"

"What if I get it by accident"

"Ask the last guy who did. Oh wait he's dead". I went out and I saw all my guards were waiting outside even the one I shot. He was bleeding out.

"Get him to a hospital. Geez you're gonna get blood everywhere"

Two of my guards took him to the hospital and the rest went with me.

I was going to meet up with the twins. Jackson would have joined us but he had a mission. Something about bombing some buildings.

"Hey girls". I called out to both of them.

"Hi Lexi!" They both screamed in unison.

"How was your first day at work?" Tessa asked.

"It was kinda funny"

"Funny?"

"Yeah funny. Everyone was just shaking and they started stammering when they spoke to me"

"That's what happens whenever you walk into a room". Kessa said.

"But I'm not that mean. Am I ?"

"Says the girl who killed a guy because of coffee. Coffee!"

"You guys should let me off on that"

They both started laughing and I soon joined in.

The three of us went to get our hair done. I was finally done with this colour. It was time to try something new.

I'm sure Axel is gonna give me another mouth full because of my hair but who cares.

This time I'm going blonde baby.
