35. Who Named Us

After we all watched the movie, Jackson went back home. Did I mention that he was an honorary Hernandez.

The maids prepared a room for Donny and his stuff arrived just on time.

After Donny got settled in and I put him to bed I went back into my room.

Today has been one hell of a day. And a day like this deserves to end with a nice shower.

After taking a shower I put my hair up in a bun, then I put on my favorite short shorts and a nice big hoodie.

The moment I laid on my bed and was about to go to sleep. Someone knocked on my door.

"Ugghh.. who is it?" I asked angrily.

"It's me sweetheart". Oh it was Antoinette. I wonder what she wants so late at night.

"Come on in".

She walked into my room, then I adjusted myself on the bed.

"What brings you here at". I paused to check the time on my phone. "1 am".

"Sorry if I disturbed you. I just wanted to talk to you". Her voice was so calm it made me feel bad for the way I spoke.

"I'm sorry. I was rude. What did you want to talk about".

"You know, your brother Axel was five when I went missing. But I still got to spend time with him. But you were just a little baby in my arms when I gave you to Mr Simpson".

"Yeah. I know all of that".

"I want to get to know you. Alexandria. I want to be a mother to you I want to be there when you need me."

"Listen. Antoinette. The thing is, I was never one to open up easily. Everything for me is a process. And I hope you don't mind giving me the time that I need to adjust. Motherhood is a really touchy subject for me".

"It's okay my sweet girl. You can take all the time you need in the world. I'm not going anywhere. And I know calling me mum is a bit weird but Antoinette is a bit too formal don't you think".

"I know right. Like who named us. I'm Alexandria and you're Antoinette. Why are our names so long. You could get like 10 nicknames out of it".

We both started laughing and I could see a spark in her eyes. She really is happy to be back.

"You don't know the half of it yet. Your dad's grandma's name was Anastasia and his mum's name was Alannah".

"Alannah?. Seriously?". Wow. How come dad and Axel get short names".

"I named Axel. And your dad named you".

"No wonder my name is so long". I said then she chuckled.

She was really fun to talk to. Scratch that having someone the same gender as me was fun to talk to.

"So Alexa. Do you have any guy in your life?". Omg she was asking about Theo.

"Well how can I say this. It's complicated".

"It can't really be that complicated".

"He hates me. I did something terrible. And now he hates me".

"I doubt that. The fact that he got hurt only shows how much power you have in his life. I think he loves you but he's just waiting for you to feel the same".

"But I do love him. I've always loved him but I'm just dumb and I push people away when I feel them getting too close".

"You're not dumb sweetie. You just have a huge wall built around your heart. And someday someone is going to climb over that wall and instead of feeling scared it would be the happiest feeling in the whole entire world".

After saying that she kissed my forehead and was about to leave my room.

"Wait". I called out to her.

"If you don't mind would you stay with me tonight"

"I would love to honey". She then laid down right beside me, I curled up into her arms.

She kept playing with my hair until i finally fell asleep.
