COVID politics

Warning: this is a political rant and could offend some people. These politics are relevant mainly to the USA.

Mask laws are a violation of freedom. Nobody should have to wear a mask if they don't want to because that law wasn't voted on. Sure, it may be considered an emergency order, but state governors don't have the power to administer those kinds of laws. Maybe the president does, but unless it's voted on the individual states shouldn't be allowed to do anything because they don't have that power, legally.

I don't mind wearing a mask, that's whatever. It's annoying but I can deal with it. What I DO mind is that the states individually making everyone wear masks without voting on it is taking away our freedom.

I don't wanna sound like some paranoid freak who doesn't trust the government, but it's just a play on the population's fears. Masks are shown to do nothing against a virus because a virus is so small it goes right through the material of a mask.

Also, slowing the spread of the virus will just make it last longer. Unless if you're really old, young, or immunocompromised it's not dangerous and we should be exposed to it for natural immunity. Asymptomatic people and those who had the virus before and test positive are the best people to get exposed to since asymptomatic people are obviously not that sick, and those who test positive after having the virus again are only shedding the dead virus. I'm not sure if the dead virus could necessarily build a natural immunity, but if you're gonna get exposed to it that's still better than someone who's dying from it. I wouldn't wanna get near someone who's dying from the virus because even though I probably wouldn't die, I'd probably get pretty sick and I just don't like getting sick.

We build natural immunities to strains of the cold all the time. Once you get it, you can't get it again and a new strain has to infect you. So, unless if there's a good reason you shouldn't get infected {like you have a health problem already} I think getting exposed is a good idea. I realize that's literally a vaccine, but at this moment there isn't one available so that's the best way to do it.

That's another point I'd like to get to. COVID vaccines will probably become required for everybody to at least attend school. Do I care? Sort of, mostly just for my intense fear of needles. I don't think it's really necessary to get vaccinated for basically a bad cold but there's other vaccines I don't really think are necessary, like flu shots since they always get people sick. Why not just take the chance that you won't get sick than make it so you're almost guaranteed to get sick? I don't get it.

I'm NOT saying all vaccines are stupid, and I'm not saying that any vaccines are bad. I'm aware that like 99% of vaccines are actually really helpful and prevent deadly disease. There's just the stupid 1% for petty illnesses that I don't see the point of getting since they're preventing minor stuff {I'm aware the flu kills people but it's pretty much only old and immunocompromised people, so I'm not really at risk and I don't see why I'd need the shot}.

Sorry if any of these opinions offended anyone, but with what I know and what I've been taught this makes the most logical sense to me. Based on how you were raised and what you know you might think otherwise and if you have more information or if the information I have is actually wrong then you might think differently. I'd like to get some feedback and know what you guys think.
