𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐄𝐗𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐘 uncommon for cheer practice to be canceled.  However, to support the newest members of the Beacon Hills lacrosse team, the team had been granted the day off and dismissed to watch the lacrosse elimination games.  These were the games that determined who made first line and who stayed on the bench.  Luck was also in Kat's favor that afternoon, as it was a Thursday, and she didn't have to work.  She was ecstatic to watch her brother and his two best friends battle it out against their teammates for the top spots on the team.

Kat sat with Lydia and Lexi as she looked out over the field, searching for Scott, Stiles, and Spencer.  She wanted to wish them luck.  She suddenly heard Stiles yelling for Scott and Spencer to wait up, and her eyes flickered towards the trio, who were standing beside the bleachers.

"Stiles, we're playing the first elimination, man -- Can it wait?" Scott asked, somewhat exasperatedly.

"Just hold on, okay?" Stiles asked, his voice strained as he spoke.  Kat knew he had something urgent to tell him.  She quickly excused herself from her friends and started down the bleachers to talk to the boys.  She didn't hear much of their conversation besides Stiles' last words as his friends left him.

"Wait, no, guys!  You're not gonna believe what the animal was!" Stiles loudly said, unsuccessfully stopping his friends from jogging out onto the field.  Kat came up beside him as he mumbled under his breath.

"Damn, I didn't catch them in time." Kat sighed, grabbing Stiles' arm.  She quickly grabbed his other one as he spun around with his fist raised in surprise.  Kat's brow arched, her heart pounding loudly in her ears as she tried to brush off the fact that she almost got punched in the face with her quick wit, "Since when is your first reaction to punch anyone that touches you?"

"Since you got back in town," Stiles cheekily said, grinning despite his nervous and freaked-out stature.

Kat chuckled, looking him over. "Are you okay?  You look like you're freaking out."

Stiles brushed her off, "Oh, yeah, great."

"Sure you're not nervous about the eliminations?" Kat questioned, giving his hand a gentle squeeze after moving her hand from his elbow to his own.  Stiles shrugged, now suddenly filled with that worry rather than whatever else was previously occupying his mind.  Kat nodded, taking a step closer as she started to encourage him. "Look, you're going to do great, okay?  And, no matter what, I'm still gonna wear your jersey on game days.  You got this!"
