𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐄𝐗𝐓 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 after Kat's shift at the hospital, Kat sat on Stiles' bed with her legs hugged to her chest and her chin resting on her knees as she looked at the boy sitting opposite her. Stiles was sitting on the foot of the bed, an eager and somewhat worried expression on his face. Kat met his eyes, her lips pursing as she finally decided to speak.
"So, let me make sure I've got this right." Kat began, taking a deep breath. "The man that almost killed me last night was Peter Hale, Derek's uncle. Peter was the one who killed that girl in the woods, which was Derek's sister. He also killed the bus driver, the video store clerk, the janitor, and now two guys in the woods? He's what's called an alpha werewolf, and he's trying to get Scott to join his pack?"
Stiles nodded, and he stayed quiet as Kat continued. "And, Allison's family are known werewolf hunters and are trying to figure out who the alpha and betas are so they can kill them? Scott's one of the betas, and they think that Jackson is one of them, too? Because they saw some scratches on the back of his neck?"
"And Derek told Scott that there was a possibility of a cure if he kills the alpha that turned him," Stiles said. Kat wordlessly nodded. "The alpha being Peter," Stiles eagerly continued. He was excited that she finally knew about everything they had been dealing with; he hated hiding things from her.
Kat narrowed her eyes at him as if to say, "I'm not an idiot," and she grumbled, "And here I thought that medical terminologies were the most confusing things I'd have to learn."
The duo was quiet as Kat settled with the new information in her head. The past twenty-four hours had been a whirlwind of emotions and information, and she was having difficulty grasping all of it, as any person would. Kat found herself thinking that she must be dreaming, that the last day hadn't actually happened, but the large bandage covering the four puncture wounds on her neck and the ever-growing headache told her otherwise.
"Why weren't you at the game last night?" Kat finally asked. She wanted to get off the topic of supernatural problems, but she also knew that that question would bring up yet another one. She was right.
"I had Danny trace those texts you and Allison got that night at the school," Stiles started, nervously licking his lips. He knew that he couldn't hide the whole truth from her. "They were sent from a computer at the hospital, under your mom's name."
"My mom wouldn't send those. I'm not sure that she'd even know how," Kat immediately said, her brows furrowing as she tried to piece together why they would have come from Melissa's computer at the hospital. "I don't even know how to do that."
